Prasanthi Nilayam is the main ashram of Sathya Sai Baba located in the village of Puttaparthi in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, India. Sathya Sai Baba was born in Puttaparthi. Prasanthi Nilayam means literally Abode of the Highest Peace. Sathya Sai Baba gave daily darshan to his devotees in this ashram. Sathya Sai Baba was usually present in Prasanthi Nilayam from early June to the middle of March.

The Veerabhadra temple is in Lepakshi in the Anantapur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Built in the 16th century, the architectural features of the temple are in the Vijayanagara style with profusion of carvings and paintings at almost every exposed surface of the temple. It is one of the centrally protected monumemts of national importance. The fresco paintings are particularly detailed in very bright dresses and colours with scenes of Rama and Krishna from the epic stories of the Ramayana, the Mahabharata and the Puranas and they are well preserved. There is a very large Nandi , mount of Shiva, about 200 metres away from the temple which is carved from a single block of stone, which is said to be one of the largest of its type in the world.

Sri Satya Sai Baba Ashram Kodaikanal

Sri Satya Sai Baba has an Ashram in Kodaikanal. Though he was mainly staying in Puttaparthi, he was also sometimes visiting Whitefield Ashram in Bangalore and Sai Sruthi in Kodaikanal. The place is just by the side of Kodai Lake at a very peaceful location. Generally less people visit this place and hence very rarely discussed on Internet. But this is definitely one of the best places to visit in Kodaikanal. There is a big hall in the ashram containing big Portraits of Sri Satya Sai baba and Shirdi Sai baba. They also allowed us to take photographs with Baba’s pictures. It was a great spiritual satisfaction to visit the place.
