OMG Trip 10: Iran - Qazvin
Yesterday we have moved from Tabriz to Qazvin. Today we wanted to go to Alamut valley which is little bit north from city to see some castles and beautifull nature. Unfortunately the weather is against us. It's supose to rain today and even guide does not recomend us to go... The road there is only about 80 kilometers but even in good weather conditions it takes 3 hours. In rain it is really dangerous try to go there. So we are staying in the city and later today we'll go to Teheran.
We came into the mosque a there is a funeral right now. The crowd of people came carrying a coffin. They bring it inside the mosque for a minute and they a leaving now. Oooh who is this mummy here? Hmmm in every mosque they dress me into chador and It's difficult to walk around in it because it fell down all the time.
Haha. You should turn other side haha. What are you doing here Filip? Simply I admire it.
And this is a persimon it is season now. Filip just ,, stole '' one... Yes I'm a criminal but I did it for you because I love you. And what now? Fast so we don' get to prison.-)
You wouldn't believe but it started to rain so we are going to hide and get a cup of tea, coffe, tea, coffe...? Before this place was a caravan retreat now it is a shopping zone. We came to coffe shop which was recomended to us by our friends Maral and her husband Ruzbeh. It is realy nice coffe shop and we like it very much. Fifo is going to have a coffe after more than two weaks and I'm going to have hot chocolate.
I have lost bottom on my brand new pants. Likely we found a shop where they repaired it and it all cost only like 10 cents. And we came right on time because they are going to close.
Our friends also recomended us a restaurant so we are going to find it. We found it and it looking really nice and fancy We are going to order ,,peimenesar''. Which should be really good and Maral told us to have it here. It is rice with redcurrant a there is a meat on the bottom. It was delicious.
Our 24 hours in Qazvin is going to end. All we have to do is wait for the bus in this line. What do you think how many buses will have to come so we get in? I think that it will be 3rd bus we'll get in. And what do you think? After 1 hour of waiting I'm optimis 2nd bus. Again we had a good experience after a while the first bus came. We didn't get in but one man came and toke us through back doors.
We don't know why he did it but we are in the front seats on the way to Teheran now. The route should take about 2 hours. We trevel for about 2,5 hours now because of trafic. So we'll see how many more time it take.

Iran - Amazing Historical Monuments in Qazvin province
Qazvin, an ancient and touristy City, is located 135 kilometers northwest of Tehran on the foothills of Alborz mountain range. Qazvin is one of the most important cultural and economic centers in Iran thanks to being located on the most important roads of the Country, possessing a vast and fertile plain and buoyant agriculture, enjoying temperate climate, having industrial cities in its surroundings together with various religious schools.
The establishment of Qazvin, based on some historical writings, dates back to mid fifth millennium before Christ and according to other findings to the Sassanid era in Iranian history. Apparently, Shapoor Zolaktaf (310-371 AD) ordered the building of a castle to prevent Deilamiyan’s aggressions in an area that later became the City of Qazvin. Some historians believe that the name Qazvin is derived from Kashvin, meaning border keeping and some orientalists are of the view that the name is taken from the name of tribes called Kaspin who settled to the west of Caspian Sea.
The City was the capital of Iran in the Safavid era for 51 years (from 955 After Hejrah) and is therefore of cultural and historical significance in Iranian history.

Qazvin, Iran
Qazvin, Caspin, Qazwin, or Ghazvin) is the largest city and capital of the Province of Qazvin in Iran. Qazvin was an ancient capital in the Persian Empire and nowadays is known as the calligraphy capital of Iran. It is famous for its Baghlava, carpet patterns, poets, political newspaper and pahlavi (Middle Persian) influence on its accent. At the 2011 census, its population was 381,598.
The city was a capital of the Persian Empire under Safavids in 1548-1598. It is a provincial capital today that has been an important cultural center throughout history.
Archeological findings in the Qazvin plain reveal urban agricultural settlements for at least nine millennia. Qazvin contains several buildings from the Safavid era, dating to the period in which it was capital of Persia. Perhaps the most famous of the surviving edifices is the Chehel Sotoun palace in central Qazvin. We visit other buildings like the Imamzadeh Hossein (a mausoleum), the Hosseiniyeh Aminiha and bazaars.

Experiencing Iran: history, nature, backpacking, meeting locals
This was our trip to Iran, spending a few weeks backpacking through cities and small villages. We did the whole trip on a low budget in order to fully experience this country, doing couchsurfing, taking local transport and meeting the warm hearted Iranians.
During these weeks we’ve seen amazing architecture, met incredibly friendly people, learnt more about Islam and broke down any stereotypes that we had. We felt very safe.
Starting in Tehran, we traveled to the north, visiting mountain villages close to Damavand and the Caspian Sea. We then traveled south to Shiraz where we visited the ruins of ancient Persepolis and slowly worked our way back north by stopping by Kerman, the Kaluts desert, Yazd, Isfahan, Qazvin and finished our trip hiking the Alamut valley.

OMG Trip 9: Iran - Tabriz
Road by bus took us around 18 hours. We had a breakfast, made a laundry, got rest little bit. And now we are exploring city of Tabriz. First stop is bazar we are going to shop ;) And what kind of bazar it is? The biggest in Europe, in Iran we are not sure but we'll find out it and let you know later. Sooo at the end it is world's biggest bazar and you can find here absoluty everthink.
Suddenly we are in the street where everyone hold money in their hands. And everybody is changing betwen thenselve's. Simply told Iranian money market.
Today's sightseeing tour in Tabriz is little bit diferent than in other cities. We are not exploring old monuments. We are just walking around. And me presonaly I'm enjoying conversation in turkish language. Tabriz is close to Turkish borders so almost everybody can speak turkish here.
We are going to buy bus tickets to next city, which is Quazvin. We'll see it'll go. Because you have to be patient and bargain the price. And after that we are going to Kandovan village later today. We have a ticket. It didn't take long, it is good that they speak turkish. It took about ten minutes because they din't want to give us better price. But at the end we saved about two euros.
In Kandovan they are processing camel fur and after that making socks, glaves, caps, scarfs....
Kandovan is about thirty kilemeters from Tabriz. Here we took a Snapp. But on the way back there was none. So we were little bit woried. Becouse there wasn't even normal taxi. But Zuzka asked and first person toke us with them. We are little bit squized in here but at the same time we are really thankfull. A here are our saviors. Traditional Iranian lunch (at about 3:30 pm). This dish is called Dizy first you drain the soup and eat it with bread. And rest which is usualy potato, tomato, some meat you have to smash and eat after soup. With a tea you always have two types of sugar a regular one ane crystalized sugar sirup with saffron flavour is the second and sometimes piece of chocolate.
Guys took us to perfect lunch. And at the end they din't let us pay at all... They were great!!!! BIG THANK YOU GUYS.
We have another great day behind us. We didn't expect that we are going to love Tabriz that much but it happend. We have met great people and enjoyed our time here. It is almost a night so we are going to work little bit and tomorrow we are heading to another place.

Shahr-e Sūkhté (Persian: شهرِ سوخته, meaning [The] Burnt City), also spelled as Shahr-e Sukhteh and Shahr-i Shōkhta, is an archaeological site of a sizable Bronze Age urban settlement, associated with the Jiroft culture.
It is located in Sistan and Baluchistan Province, the southeastern part of Iran, on the bank of the Helmand River, near the Zahedan-Zabol road. It was placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in June 2014.
Plaque identifying the Burnt City registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The reasons for the unexpected rise and fall of the Burnt City are still wrapped in mystery.
Artifacts recovered from the city demonstrate a peculiar incongruity with nearby civilizations of the time and it has been speculated that Shahr-e-Sukhteh might ultimately provide concrete evidence of a civilization east of prehistoric Persia that was independent of ancient Mesopotamia.

Compared to Tehran, our last stop, Isfahan is more traditional and conservative. This is why you can visit quite a few monumental sights here. We took 2 days to try the local cuisine and explore the best things to do in Isfahan such as roaming the world's second largest square, smoke shisha or visit the big mosques.
Due to it's centralized structure and the numerous parks Isfahan is a great city to explore for tourists - all major attractions can be found in and around the huge Naqsh-e Jahan Square.
We reached out to the local Couchsurfing community to get in touch with locales who could give us tips beyond the typical tourist sites - it didn't take long until Shayan reached out and offered us to show us his Esfahan. This way we got to see places and eat at restaurants we normally wouldn't have found ourselves. In this video We give a few recommendations of places to visit in Isfahan and typical persian dishes you should try when visiting.
