3 Weeks in French Polynesia (Moorea, Bora Bora, Rangiroa, Ra'iatea, Taha'a)
The complete video of our trip to French Polynesia in 2016, with all 4 individual parts of the trip edited together.
Part 1: After flying Tahiti, the island of Moorea was our first destination during our trip to French Polynesia in 2016. We stayed at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort and had a great time exploring the island with Albert Transport's 4WD Safari Tour.
Part 2: Our visit to Bora Bora! Bora Bora was the second stop during our 3-week trip to French Polynesia in 2016. We stayed in an overwater bungalow at Le Meridien Bora Bora and went on a few excursions, including: skydiving, swimming with whales and sharks, and snorkeling with stingrays.
Part 3: Our third stop was Rangiroa, where we stayed at Hotel Kia Ora Resort & Spa and Le Sauvage Private Island. Several miles away from the nearest road, no electricity, surrounded by bright, blue water. Definitely the most relaxing place and remote location we've ever been!
Part 4: Sailing on a catamaran between Bora Bora, Raiatea, and Taha'a during our final week. We sailed around the bright, blue waters of Bora Bora, saw a whale and dolphin, swam with stingrays, snorkeled the Coral Garden in Taha'a, toured a vanilla farm, visited a pearl farm, watched a traditional Polynesia dance show at Le Ficus, and enjoyed living on a boat for a week!
Recorded with a GoPro Hero4 Black and a DJI Phantom 4.

See the sea life in Rangiroa, a ring-shaped atoll in French Polynesia that is known for oysters that produce black pearls. It also has some of the world's best scuba diving, and visitors can see dolphins, manta rays, green sea turtles, and hammerhead sharks.
Rangiroa is the largest atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago, and home to a 42 mile long by 16 mile wide turquoise lagoon, which is a breathtaking spectacle, holding numerous discoveries, and host to a range of exciting activities.
Why you should leave home and take a trip to Rangiroa?
1. Visit the beach: Rangiroa’s beaches are beautiful and serene, with clear, turquoise water, and white sand, offering visitors a picturesque place to swim and frolic, enjoy a picnic, tan and lounge. Most resorts offer guests amenities such as massages in the shade, drinks and food on the beach.
2. Underwater Activities: Discover some of the world’s best diving sites in Rangiroa. They have a variety of diving centers and facilities to choose from. Outside the reefs is a breathtaking array of large marine species along the walls of the drop-offs, including tuna, eagle rays, and sharks! You can also go snorkeling, and explore reefs which contain an assortment of smaller marine life.
3. Water Sports & Related Activities: In Rangiroa, there is an activity for every type of person out there, whether you are adventurous or conservative, you can enjoy a variety of above-water experiences, such as kayaking, water skiing, para sailing, jet skiing, sailing and deep sea fishing.
4. Excursions – Rangiroa offers numerous excursions opportunities;
- You can decide destinations like Tiputa Pass, there’s a good chance of seeing ‘Big Surprises’. How about manta rays (in season), families of dolphins playing away and rare sharks like hammerhead and tiger a definite possibility. The more you dive, the more surprises you’ll see
- A bird sanctuary,
- Enjoyment of touring one of the many working pearl farms
- and a winery
- You can also take a ride on a glass-bottom boat to see marine life without getting wet.
5. Discover Tahitian Cultural
6. Restaurant Hopping: Rangiroa has a list of seductive restaurants that are sure to tantalize your taste buds even further, while offering live Tahitian cultural entertainment. You will find both International and French Polynesian cuisine.
Apart from those you can also try:
- Cycling Around The Atolls
- Visiting The Pink Sand Beach: there are quite a few beaches in Fakarava that have pink sand. But none are as beautiful (or famous) as the one not too far away from Tetamanu Village. Also known as Les Sables Roses, the only way to get here is on a long voyage by boat, but at least the good news is that you’ll probably be the only ones here. The color of the sand? Orange on a cloudy day and radiating pink when the sun is shining.
- Diving In The Avatoru Pass: Separating Avatoru village and the coral vineyards that grow on the opposing motu, the Avatoru Pass in Rangiroa doesn’t get as many divers as its big sister down the road, but it’s where the mighty silvertip sharks like to grab breakfast every day. Hang on to some coral when the current is pulling you out into the blue and keep your eyes peeled for the predator!

Swimming with Sharks in French Polynesia
One of my new favorite tropical destinations, French Polynesia, is a must-see. With diverse marine life, some of the world’s best diving, incredible natural beauty, and a heavy vanilla scent that follows you wherever you go, this is a place like you’ve never seen.
On a trip with my friends Chelsea, Travis, Lauren and Shawn, we swam with sharks, climbed waterfalls, and experienced one of the best tropical trips of all time!
From Taha’a to Rangiroa to Tahiti, there is an endless array of adventures just waiting to be had here.

Top 10 Places to Visit in French Guiana
Top 10 Places to Visit in French Guiana
Deep in equatorial South America, French Guiana (also known as Guyane) is a department of France bordering Brazil, Suriname, and the Atlantic. It's a land where old abuts new in striking incongruity. Dense rainforests shelter centuries-old indigenous villages, while rockets zoom overhead, launched from the country's lucrative Space Centre. The capital, Cayenne, is a melting pot of French, Asian, African, and Brazilian cultures, and if you visit during Carnival, between Epiphany and Ash Wednesday, you can join in the celebrations with parades every weekend.
