Die Deutschen Anna, Marcel und Philipp haben sich entschieden, ein Jahr ihres Lebens anderen zu widmen. Sie sind Freiwillige in Maarja küla in der Nähe von Taevaskoja, wo sie zusammen mit Jugendlichen mit geistiger Behinderung leben und arbeiten. Die estnische Sprache haben sie innerhalb weniger Monate gelernt und anstatt der befürchteten Langeweile haben sie auf ihre Weise in Maarja küla eine Familie und Freunde gefunden.
