Vernazza and Manarola, Cinque Terre, Italy
Vernazza, Italy, may be the most beautiful of all Cinque Terre villages, set perfectly in a tiny valley on the edge of the sea, with colorful homes built one on top of the next and framed by a couple of churches and towers.
The buildings have been standing for many centuries and they’re not going anywhere, so take your time, explore the little side alleys, and yes, there are going to be staircases. After all, these are hill-towns, so there are hardly any flat, level surfaces here, but it’s easy enough.
You will be snapping away with your digital machine no doubt, capturing nice memories to remind you years hence about what a joy this was, but no picture can equal the visceral thrill of being in such a stimulating place, so don’t let that camera get in the way or divert you from fully experiencing the moment. Spend a few minutes just looking, and nothing else.
It's fun just to hang out in the village for a while and do little people watching and observe the different buildings and the folks hanging out.
This walk up the hillside is really quite easy. Don't be alarmed by the stairs and elevation. You can see a lot of it is quite level and right away you get a rewarding view, this happens it within your first 10 minutes of walking up they'll you could go up higher.
Manarola spills down the hill to the waterfront, its houses packed solidly together in the typical pattern of the region, with terraced hillsides for the grapes up above.
They don’t have a beach but there is a boat ramp carved into the stone, the most popular spot around for it functions like a beach, packed with sunbathers. The ramp leads to a cove with good swimming, further protected by a stone jetty, and ladders to help people get in and out of the water.
There’s no room to put the boats in the water so they are stored up on dry land, on a ramp and along the main street as well.
There are quite a few local residents who like to hang out, sit on the bench, chat with their friends and do some people-watching. Tourists love to look at the locals, and locals equally enjoy looking back at the tourists.
Portofino and Santa Margherita, Italy
Portofino along the shores of the Italian Riviera, a little seaport town, has a terrace with the picture-perfect postcard view of Portofino’s harbor, colorful buildings, and green hills beyond. This is not to be missed; in fact this view is the reason for our visit. Somehow the overall elements around you fit together in a perfectly harmonious whole,
Santa Margherita is a classic town on the waterfront of the Italian Riviera, with arcaded sidewalks, beautiful palm trees and a green park promenade along the beach and marina.
When you walk in a block from the waterfront you discover a charming Old Town atmosphere with pedestrian streets, little piazzas, shops, restaurants and locals out for a stroll. Not many tourists in this town, which therefore has a more authentic Italian feeling. It’s a great little town full of light and color with orange and brown pastel buildings nestled right up against the picturesque waterfront.

Barcelona - Ribera and Born walking tour
We're going to take you on a walking tour through the little back lanes of Barcelona exploring a neighborhood that many visitors miss. We' re going into La Ribera, and El Born. Only a few blocks east of the Cathedral and the famous Gothic Quarter, Ribera, is a local neighborhood – residential with shops, restaurants, bars, and it's a great place to visit. You will find many pedestrian lanes with no cars to upset the tranquility – it's an authentic slice of local life.
The route that we' re following brings you from one end to the other over to the big park and then back into the center of this walking zone. You don't really need a map but we've got some practical suggestions for you to help show you how to explore La Ribera and we will visit a Gothic church, and starting out at the concert hall, Palau de la Musica Catalana.
From Palau de la Musica we will take you along Carrer St. Pere over to the church and place of St. Pere and then down, around and over into the park and returning back over along Princesa to a couple of lovely pedestrian streets with malls and outdoor cafes, and continuing along back into the heart of this district, and then we'll do some meandering – kind of get lost a little bit, going this way that way to the Gothic church of Santa Maria Del Mar, and then back into the center of the Gothic Quarter.
Continue through the district of Sant Pere. The neighborhood is named after the former convent monastery of Sant Pere an ancient church on a small Plaza of Sant Pere.
This is a quieter part of town and it enjoys a slow pace of life in a world of its own, so you can hang out here for a while and just simply meander.
And as you walk along you're going to see the locals going about their business, shopping, talking, hanging out.
Here you can enjoy an ordinary working-class neighborhood set with an old-fashioned atmosphere a little bit off of the beaten track out from the center of Barcelona. It's fair to say that most tourists never get here.
A couple blocks south the Sant Pere neighborhood opens up, wider pedestrian lanes and more people. There's some shops and restaurants nearby. A lively neighborhood and it is just another block over to the big park where we find the Arc de Triomf. It was the main access gate for the 1888 Barcelona World's Fair, built in a redbrick Neo- Mudéjar style.
This is the Parc de la Ciutadella. Today it's the major park of Barcelona, a very popular spot, especially on a weekend.
Returning to the Old Town neighborhood of La Ribera visiting couple of lively little plazas. We're going to find that even though the residents don't have green parks, they do have lovely plazas and gathering places and pedestrian lanes and wide sidewalks along the streets, and with many big trees to enhance the environment.
You'll always see young families out with their kids, the local people walking the dog, and folks doing a little shopping, a little talking and doing a lot of sitting around at these cafes. The outdoor ambience of the place is really quite wonderful.

Argentina is a large country in South America famous for its tango, the pampas and beef consumption. Less well known is the fact that the highest peak in the Americas, Aconcagua, lies on its western border and that the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia, is located on its lower shore.
Perhaps the most obvious reason to visit Argentina is Buenos Aires, one of the most fascinating of all Latin American capitals. It’s an immensely enjoyable place just to wander about, watch soccer, go shopping or simply soaking up the unique atmosphere.

The Ibera Wetlands are the second-largest wetlands in world after the Pantanal in Brazil. A true paradise for nature lovers it has the richest fauna of all Argentina. Monte Fitz Roy is a 3,375 meter (11,073 ft) high mountain in the Southern Patagonian Ice Field on the border between Argentina and Chile. The mountain attracts many photographers thanks to its otherworldly shape. It was first climbed in 1952 by French alpinists Lionel Terray and Guido Magnone.
6 - Beagle Channel

The Beagle Channel is a strait in the Tierra del Fuego Archipelago, in the extreme south of Argentina. The channel is one of the three navigable passages around South America, the other ones are the Straits of Magellan to the north, and the open ocean Drake Passage to the south. A boat trip is the best way to view the Beagle Channel, with attractions such as the sea-lion colony at Isla de los Lobos, and Isla de Pájaros.

Valdes Peninsula is an important nature reserve noted for its unique fauna and geology. The coastline is inhabited by sea lions, elephant seals and – from October till March – penguins. Whales can be found in the waters located between the Valdes Peninsula and the Patagonian mainland between May and December. Off the coast, in the open sea off the peninsula Orcas can be found.

San Carlos de Bariloche is a city on the foothills of the Andes known for its Swiss-like atmosphere and its chocolate shops. Many travelers combine a visit to Bariloche with touring through the Andean Lakes area and in particular along the Road of the Seven Lakes.

The Perito Moreno Glacier is an enormous glacier located in the Los Glaciares National Park. It is one of the most important tourist attractions in Argentina due to its size and accessibility. It is less than two hours by bus from El Calafate while viewing platforms and trails make the visit and the observation easy and pleasant. Boat tours are also a popular way of seeing the Perito Moreno Glacier and many other glaciers and places in the National Park Los Glaciares.

10. Paestum
Paestum is a Greek settlement where you can find the best preserved Greek doric temples worldwide. Most of the ancient Greek city has not been excavated yet. Besides three temples, the side has a gymnasium, city wall and tower ruins and plenty of house wall ruins. Part of the site is also a museum showing excavated items such as statues, vases, metalwork, and painted grave stones.
9. Ravello
A peaceful area with a small population, Ravello offers stunning views of the Mediterranean. Visit their renowned gardens, Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, and their spectacular Duomo, the Cathedral of Ravello, which is located in Vescovado Square. During summer months the city hosts the annual Ravello Festival, an event started in 1953 in honor of Richard Wagner and continued as a celebration of local art and music.

The small Italian island of Capri is situated 5 km from the mainland in the Bay of Naples, a celebrated beauty spot and coastal resort since the days of the Roman Republic until now. Capri, known in Greek mythology as the isle of the sirens, was a favored resort of the Roman emperors. Most notoriously, the emperor Tiberius had his villa on the island, the location (supposedly) of debauched orgies.
7. Pompeii & Herculaneum
Pompeii is in Campania, Italy, not far from Naples. Its major attraction is the ruined ancient Roman city of the same name, which was engulfed by Mt. Vesuvius in AD 79. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This site is considered to be one of the few sites where an ancient city has been preserved in detail.
6. Certosa di San Martino
Certosa di San Martino, a former monastery complex, now a museum. It is the most visible landmark of the city, perched atop the Vomero hill that commands the gulf. A Carthusian monastery, it was finished and inaugurated under the rule of Queen Joan I in 1368. Today, the buildings house a museum with a display of Spanish and Bourbon era artifacts, as well as displays of the presepe—Nativity scene—considered to be among the finest in the world.

It hosts paintings from the 13th to the 18th centuries including major works by Simone Martini, Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, Masaccio, Sandro Botticelli, Lorenzo Lotto, Giovanni Bellini, Giorgio Vasari, El Greco, Jacob Philipp Hackert. It is also the place where are hosted the works of the most important Neapolitan painters, like Jusepe de Ribera, Luca Giordano, the Neapolitan Caravaggisti.

3. Duomo (Naples Cathedral)
Naples Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral, the main church of Naples, southern Italy, and the seat of the Archbishop of Naples. It is widely known as the Cattedrale di San Gennaro, in honour of Saint Januarius, the city's patron saint, but is actually dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
2. Castel Nuovo
It is a medieval castle and the main symbol of the architecture of the city. It was first begun in 1279 by Charles I of Anjou and completed three years later. Castel Nuovo soon became the nucleus of the historical center of the city, and was often the site of famous events. For example, on December 13, 1294, Pope Celestine V resigned as pope in a hall of the castle. The event was famously depicted by Dante Alighieri in his masterpiece la Divina Commedia, in the verse Colui che per viltade fece il gran rifiuto.
1. Palazzo Reale
Palazzo Reale is one of the four residences used by the Bourbon Kings of Naples during their rule of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies (1730-1860). The Royal Palace is on the site of an earlier building meant to host King Philip III of Spain, who however never made the trip. The architect chosen for that palace was Domenico Fontana. The building was put up on the site of an even older Spanish viceroyal residence from the early 16th century.
