Places to see in ( Elba Island - Italy )
Elba is an Italian island in the Tyrrhenian Sea’s Tuscan Archipelago National Park. It’s known for its beaches, and as Napoleon’s place of exile in 1814–15. In the northern town of Portoferraio, displays at the National Museum of Napoleonic Residences trace the French emperor’s time on the island. In the east, Rio Marina’s Elban Minerals Museum includes reconstructions of mining environments.
Elba is the biggest island of the Tuscan Archipelago and the third largest in Italy after Sardinia and Sicily. Together with eight other islands, including Giglio, Giannutri and Montecristo, it is part of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago, the largest marine park in Europe.
The island of Elba is famous around the world for harboring French Emperor Napoleon in 1814 during his exile. But its history goes back to prehistory, with the Ilvati tribe from Liguria who named the island Ilva. It was then inhabited first by the Etruscans and later by the Romans, who really appreciated the island and its rich deposits of iron and its mud baths.
There are several memories of its glorious past as we visit the island, from the archaeological findings in its museums to the impressive fortresses and military constructions such as Castello del Volterraio and then on to the beautiful Napoleonic residences of the 1800s such as Palazzina dei Mulini.
What really makes Elba famous and renowned are its clear and blue sea and beautiful beaches. The extraordinary richness of its landscapes, both land and marine, turns the island of Elba into a unique destination in Tuscany. We can say that is a heaven on earth, with nothing to envy of more exotic Caribbean destinations.
In addition, Elba is the perfect place for outdoor sports and activities. Among the most appreciated sports, there is diving and snorkeling in Elba, thanks to its rich seabeds housing lots of different species of fish. But outdoors lovers can also enjoy spending time on land hiking and mountain biking, enjoying a round of golf, a day of sailing or enjoying days of complete relaxation at the thermal baths of San Giovanni. Here's another excellent resource on the Elba island and what you can see and do on the island of Elba
The historic center’s streets - full of interesting places to visit - stretch and wind inside the fortress walls. Despite the seemingly-infinite examples we can find of Florentine rule – who called Portoferraio “Cosmopolis” in those days – others also conquered the scene from time to time, including the Romans. Their influence here is documented by sites like Villa della Linguella, lying along the sea, and Villa delle Grotte, which sits along the provincial road connecting Portoferraio Porto Azzurro.
Signs of French Emperor Napoleon also dot the Province; the Napoleonic Museums inside Villa dei Mulini and Villa San Martino in the historic center narrate his exile on Elba. Another excellent symbol of Elba’s past is the Castello del Volterraio, on the same-named street linking the Commune of Rio Elba to Magazzini. The Castle was constructed by the Pisani during their rule, intended as a lookout point; trekkers should certainly make the visit, as the panoramic view over the central part of the Island is stupendous.

35 Things to do in Chicago | Top Attractions Travel Guide
The following travel video is a comprehensive list of the best 35 Things to do in Chicago including all of the top Attractions worth visiting and seeing in this complete travel guide for the Windy City.
Many people don't realize this but Chicago is a world class city with festivals, arts, entertainment, dining and architecture that can rival any city in North America or even Europe. The only other city that I think can compare with Chicago - in terms of attractions - in America is New York. Whether you're scarfing down Chicago style deep dish pizza or taking in a Blues festival you'll find no shortage of things to do in the city. If you're a sport fan there are no shortage of professional teams to follow at any time of the year including the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears and the Chicago Bulls. When you're thinking of destination to travel to in the United States, Chicago should be near the top of your list. I guarantee that you'll have a lot of fun:

Places to see in ( Elba Island - Italy ) Spiaggia di Sansone
Places to see in ( Elba Island - Italy ) Spiaggia di Sansone
The evocative beauty of the beach of Sansone makes you forget the effort required to walk the tortuous path (15 minutes on foot) that descends to the sea from the provincial road to the Enfola.
Considered among the most beautiful on the island of Elba , the beach is surrounded by high white cliffs that plunge into the crystal clear sea, a dense blue, a tormented blue and a bright turquoise absolutely to be admired. It is part of the famous white beaches , near Portoferraio; is unmissable ... the narrow tongue of pebbles of eurite is of an almost dazzling whiteness and the sea, on days when the sirocco blows, is impressive, limpid, transparent.
300 meters long, it is cut in two by a landslide bordered to the right by a beautiful hole in the hole dedicated to the dives that separates it from the younger sister of the Source and on the left by a large stack often crossed by canoes and indicated for snorkeling. Suitable for those who do not like crowds and appreciate wild nature. There is a small establishment equipped with umbrellas, sunbeds and a small bar. In the adjacent Sorgente beach, the campsite offers a catering service.
Take the provincial Portoferraio - Enfola and after about 3.5 km. on the right you will find clear directions; park your car along the road or pay parking and continue on foot for 350 meters passing a small village. You will arrive at the beach of the Source, cross it and after a short path will appear the beach of Samson.

Places to see in ( Elba Island - Italy ) Elba Beaches
Everyone has her/his own favorite beach: some like sand, others prefer rocky coastlines; some seek wild, natural beaches, others want beaches with well-equipped resorts. The Island of Elba offers you all of these options: you just need to know where to go.
The beach of Cavoli lies on the southern coast of the island, at around 4.5 km from Marina di Campo, in the direction of Fetovaia. Its 300 meters of fine white sand are considered the coolest on Elba because there are a always a lot of parties and young people there. The Cavoli beach is usually quite crowded, so it is not ideal for those looking for peace and tranquility.
The beach of Sansone is located after the beaches of Acquaviva and La Sorgente, and before the Enfola headland, along the road from Portoferraio. It is a white pebble beach that boasts crystal clear waters. It is quite popular and a perfect backdrop for photographs
The town of Fetovaia is about 8 km from Marina di Campo. It has breathtaking views of the Punta di Fetovaia, stretching out to the sea, and it also boasts golden sandy beach, andcrystal clear waters, with the mountains and rocks in the backdrop.
Chiessi is on the west side of the island and has a pebble beach, bordered by unusual rocks with smooth sides. If you like to slide off rocks and have fun in the water, this is your place. Sant'Andrea is a wonderful small sandy beach with big rocks on the sides, in the Sant'Andea creek in the north-west side of the island, about 6 km from Marciana Alta. The tiny beach of Cotoncello, located at 800 metres on the right side of Sant'Andrea, also deserves a visit.
The little sister of the biggest and best-known beach of Lacona is really quiet and relaxing. The sea is cristal clear and the rocks under the water are full of fishes. Let us give you a friendly tip: have a experience on board of a kayak here
Pareti is one of the numerous beaches of Capoliveri. The sandy beach is approximately 50 meters long and, due to the protected position and the services offered, it is ideal for families with children. Le Ghiaie is the town beach of Portoferraio, with crystal clear waters and a pebbly beach. It is also a protected area. You can also find gardens behind the beach.
Biodola beach is the largest beach in the Biodola bay, where you can also find the beaches of Scaglieri and Forno. You can easily reach it; it is just 3 kilometres from Procchio. It has fine, white sand and all the necessary services and facilities for families. Barabarca is situated approximately 1.5 km from the town center of Capoliveri. It is a small pebbly beach in front of the Capo Stella peninsula and is surrounded by green areas.
