1. Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) Sandakan
The Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre is a wildlife conservation and research centre for improving animal welfare and rehabilitation of the Malayan sun bear . It also aims to raise public awareness about the plight of the sun bears and to raise conservation awareness about this species. The BSBCC was established as a non-profit organisation in Sabah in 2008. It is a joint project between sun bear researcher Wong Siew Te, Land Empowerment Animals People , the Sabah Wildlife Department and the Sabah Forestry Department . The BSBCC is neighboured to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Sepilok and shares veterinary facilities, personnel, parking, access roads and ticket gates.

The Gomantong Caves are an intricate cave system inside Gomantong Hill in Sandakan Division, Sabah, Malaysia. The hill is the largest limestone outcrop in the Lower Kinabatangan area. Situated in a Sabah Forestry Department forest reserve, the caves and the surrounding area are a protected area for wildlife, especially orangutans. The limestone hill is also the only known site for the endangered land snail Plectostoma mirabile. Investigation of the guano deposits were first made in 1889 by J.H. Allard of the China Borneo Company, and the caves were first mapped by P. Orolfo in 1930. Amazing Sabah: Top Things To Do | Visit Malaysia | FCX

In this exclusive video by Star2 and TheStarTV, features reporter Sheela Chandran takes in the wild and adventurous soul of Sabah, from rugged mountaintops to lush rainforests to pure shores, as she travels from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan.

At the Mari Mari Cultural Village, five indigenous groups – Kadazan-Dusun, Bajau, Murut, Lundayeh and Rungus – showcase their tribal traditions. Over at Kinabalu Park, Malaysia's first World Heritage Site, you can hike up to Low's Peak on Mount Kinabalu and be rewarded with a magnificent view. There's also the Mt Kinabalu Botanical Garden, with over 800 species of plant life, and Poring Hot Springs, where the mineral pools are said to have therapeutic properties.

From KK, she travels to Ranau to the Sabah Tea Garden, the only organic tea plantation on Borneo, and then she's off to Kundasang War Memorial, built in honour of Australian and British soldiers who died in the notorious death marches of WWII. If you can, catch the scenery at Desa Cattle Dairy Farm, and don't miss eating the local fruits at the street markets along the way. A must try is tarap, which is native to Borneo.

After that, our filming crew is in Sandakan to visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, which has been rescuing orphaned orangutan since 1964, and the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. We also stop over at the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary.

We went island hopping in Kota Kinabalu (Sabah) which is a Malaysian state situated on the coast of Borneo. These islands are collectively known as the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine parks and consist of 5 islands : Gaya, Manukan, Sapi, Mamutik and Sulug. We did a lot of activities including the most popular zip lining from one island to the other ( coral flyer ). Hope you guys enjoyed watching this. Many thanks
