South African Garden Route Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination South African Garden Route in South Africa.
The historic city of Port Elisabeth is the beginning of a magnificent journey along the South African Garden Route. After travelling through vast agricultural areas and blossoming meadows the Tsitsikamma Lodge, that is located in the Tsitsikamma National Park, is a paradise of blossoming flowers and plants, a huge botanical garden of amazing sights and perfumes that tease the senses. A small steam train, the Quteniqua Choo Tjoe, travels from George to Knysna, a fine city and a popular bathing resort, well known for its tasty beer, fresh oysters and stylish hardwood furniture, and then it journeys on through the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Covering 2,600 hectares, the coastal Wilderness National Park consists of pure, unadulterated Nature, where waves rush toward the shore and bleached debris lies on the shoreline. Mossel Bay has long sandy beaches that are ideal for sun bathing and swimming, a veritable oasis of tranquillity far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It also boasts an old Milkwood Tree that has been used as a message centre since the year 1500 and since then has been known as the first post office in South Africa. The Garden Route, with all the fascinating stops along the way, is without a doubt one of South Africa’s most spectacular attractions.

George, Garden Route - South Africa Tourism
The Garden Route is a popular and scenic stretch of the south-eastern coast of South Africa. It stretches from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape to the Storms River which is crossed along the N2 coastal highway over the Paul Sauer Bridge in the extreme western reach of the neighbouring Eastern Cape. The name comes from the verdant and ecologically diverse vegetation encountered here and the numerous lagoons and lakes dotted along the coast. It includes towns such as Mossel Bay, Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Plettenberg Bay and Nature's Valley; with George, the Garden Route's largest city and main administrative centre.

Some Info about Knysna
Sourced from:
Knysna (/ˈnaɪznə/; probably from a Khoikhoi word meaning ferns)[3][4] is a town with 51,078 inhabitants in the Western Cape Province of South Africa and is part of the Garden Route. It lies 34 degrees south of the equator, and is 72 kilometres east from the town of George on the N2 highway, and 25 kilometres west of Plettenberg Bay on the same road.
Geography
Knysna Heads
Knysna Estuary
The town is primarily built on the northern shore of a large warm-water estuary, known as the Knysna Lagoon, which is fed by the Knysna River. The estuary opens to the ocean after passing between two large headlands. These are popularly known as The Heads, and have become infamous due to the loss of boats and fishermen passing through their treacherous and unpredictable waters. The Paquita, a German vessel, sank on the eastern side of the Knysna Heads way back in 1903. Near them are geological formations, known locally as The Map Stones. To the north of Knysna, Afro-Montane or temperate rainforest covers the hilly terrain for 20 km until changing to fynbos or macchia high in the Outeniqua Mountains.

Places to see in ( Sedgefield - UK )
Places to see in ( Sedgefield - UK )
Sedgefield is a town and civil parish in County Durham, England. It has a population of 4,534, increasing to 5,211 at the 2011 census. A Roman 'ladder settlement' was discovered by Channel Four's Time Team programme in 2003, in fields just to the west of Sedgefield. It consisted of rows of crofts and workshops on either side of a north-south trackway, which could be securely dated by the many finds of Roman coins. St Edmund's church in Sedgefield is noted for its ornate 17th-century Cosin woodwork, unique to County Durham after the furnishings in Brancepeth were destroyed in a fire.
The 18th century saw the architect James Paine commissioned by John Burdon in 1754 to design and construct a Palladian estate at nearby Hardwick Hall. The building work was never completed as Burdon went bankrupt, but sufficient landscaping was done to form the basis of the now renovated Hardwick Hall Country Park.
The 19th-century South African politician and industrialist Henry Barrington was born in Sedgefield, and actions by his offspring indirectly led to the South African town of Sedgefield, Western Cape being named in honour of his birthplace.
In the 19th century, Sedgefield was a great hunting centre, dubbed 'the Melton of the North'. Hunter Ralph Lambton had his headquarters at Sedgefield: the humorous writer, Robert Smith Surtees, who lived at Hamsterley Hall, was a friend of his. On 23 February 1815, Lord Darlington wrote: 'Mr Ralph Lambton was out with some gentlemen from Sedgefield, and a most immense field.'
Sedgefield was also known in the area because of Winterton Hospital. This was an isolation hospital and an asylum. The site was like a village itself with its own fire station, bank and cricket team. Today, little trace is left of the hospital, apart from the church, which is now surrounded by the Winterton housing estate and the NETPark Science park. Sedgefield is twinned with Hamminkeln, Germany.
Ceddesfeld Hall was originally the rectory to the church, built after the first rectory burnt down; it is now occupied by the Sedgefield Community Association. A Latin inscription above the door states, By the generosity of Samuel and Shute Barrington, one an Admiral of the Fleet, the other Bishop of Durham, whose achievements are praised by everyone.
( Sedgefield - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Sedgefield . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Sedgefield - UK

The Best of the Garden Route + Addo, South Africa
The Garden Route is a 300 Km (190 mi) stretch of the southeastern coast of South Africa that stretches from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape to the Storms River in the Eastern Cape.
Featuring fresh water lakes, stunning mountains, indigenous forests, golden beaches and vividly colored wild flowers, the Garden Route is one of the most beautiful areas in South Africa and a popular holiday destination for local and international tourists alike,
During my 5-day Garden Route + Addo Elephant Park trip with Hot Spots 2 C, I experienced the best of the Garden Route (Nature’s Valley, Storms River, Sedgefield, Wilderness, etc), and also jumped from the highest bungy bridge in the world, zip lined over waterfalls, hiked through the lush Tsitsikma Forest, fed and interacted with elephants, was amazed by the beauty of the Cango Caves and also did a safari at Addo Elephant Camp.

Beautiful South Africa Like You've Never Seen Before!
Beautiful South Africa Like You've Never Seen Before!
Completely stunning views from through paragliding in South Africa. The views cover from Gerrekes Point, Map of Africa, Sedgefield, Kleinkrantz and Paradise Ridge.
Situated at the southern tip of Africa, South Africa is 1 233 404km² in size and is edged on three sides by nearly 3 000km of coastline, with the Indian Ocean to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The country is bordered in the north by Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, and also encloses two independent countries, the kingdoms of Lesotho and Swaziland.
The tourism industry is well established with an exciting sector of emerging entrepreneurs. The country is strong on adventure, sport, nature and wildlife, and is a pioneer and global leader in responsible tourism.
South Africa is known for its long sunny days, hence the title, ‘Sunny South Africa’. Most of the nine provinces have summer rainfall, except for the Western Cape, which experiences winter rainfall. The high-lying areas of the interior can be chilly in winter.
In 1998 Conservation International declared South Africa one of the 17 megadiverse destinations in the world because of its rich biological diversity. Expect majestic and intimidating animals such as rhinos, elephants and great white sharks, and smaller ‘cute’ ones such as meerkats, bush babies and bat-eared foxes, as well as diverse plant life from succulent Karoo through to fynbos and indigenous forests.
South Africa is really an impressive place to visit and one you can't miss at all!
