Enjoy some great wines or if it's too early you can pop into Café Y for a spot of morning tea.
We now cruise through some of the most picturesque scenery in the Barossa, we cross the world famous Jacobs Creek as we head toward the heart of the Barossa Valley, the beautiful and historic township of Tanunda. You have time to wander up the main street and visit some local shops and points of interest, a perfect place to find a souvenir.
Lunch is a regional highlight. Continuing on we make our way though the Barossa Valley and feast our eyes on the beauty of the famous Seppeltsfield region. We view the iconic Seppeltsfield winery which ties in perfectly with the last winery we visit for the day.
We finish our day at Murray Street Vineyards on the opposite side of the Barossa Valley to where we started. This is one of the smaller wineries we visit however it has one of the greatest stories in the Barossa Valley. Owner and chief winemaker Andrew Seppelt is a 6th generation Barossa wine maker and brings together all his family's local knowledge with lessons he learnt while working in the famous old world wine regions of France. Murray Street Vineyards is a wonderful blend of the old and new world. With a little luck Andrew might pop in and you can ask one of the brightest wine making stars in the Barossa some questions.
This tour blends historical wineries, wonderful regional food, breathtaking scenery and the people that make the Barossa Valley a truly world class region, a day you are bound to enjoy.

About Seize The Day Wines, Barossa Valley
For every big Barossa winery there are lots of little guys like us, following a passion, producing high quality, honest Barossa wines with one intent – for people to enjoy and then take home the world renowned flavours of the Barossa in a bottle.
I put all my energy into growing the best grapes possible from my 10 acre home vineyard in historic and beautiful Seppeltsfield on the Barossa’s western ridge, and then work in collaboration with my winemakers to guarantee a premium wine that tells the story.
Cheers, Pete

Schild Estate
HOT DEALS - BAROSSA WINES - SCHILD ESTATE WINES
Valley of Hope Winery
In 2009 Schild Estate commenced building a new state of the art winery facility at Lyndoch. Surrounded by 40 acres of prime vineyard land, this purpose built facility was designed in conjunction with an experienced winery design team in order to provide greater control of the winemaking process and allow us to try and take Schild Estate Wines to the next level.
Operational by the 2010 vintage, the Valley of Hope winery is capable of processing up to 1,000 tonnes of fruit each year in small batch fermenters. Automatic tank temperature control systems, a self weighing stainless steel crusher, air bag presses, an on-site laboratory, significant barrel and finished goods storage and an integrated rain water recycling and waste water system all ensure the facility is equipped to the highest industry specifications and capable of carrying Schild Estate well into the future.
Winemaking Philosophy
Schild Estate's winemaking philosophy is driven by a desire to produce wines that are genuinely reflective of their location, are true to their variety, offer balance and elegance and over deliver from a price versus quality perspective.
Our approach is very much grounded in our vineyards which are all in the area in and around Lyndoch in the southern end of the Barossa Valley. Slightly cooler and wetter than other areas in the Valley, the wines produced from here tend to have a very fine tannin structure and offer some real elegance and softness. All that we do in both the vineyard and the winery is designed to support this vibrant fruit and showcase it in the resulting wines we produce, without too much interference from the winemaking team.
Processes
Fruit for our white wines is harvested in the cool of the night and delivered quickly to the winery, where it is crushed, chilled and pressed to tank. Cold settled overnight, the juice is then fermented cool (between 11 and 18 degrees) in temperature controlled stainless steel vessels. All of this is designed to retain maximum freshness, aromatics and flavour depth. Immediately after fermentation is completed, the wines are prepared for bottling.
Schild Estate red wines are handled with as much care and finesse as our white wines. Harvesting of the fruit at optimum flavour ripeness in the vineyard is essential. A great deal of time is spent in each individual vineyard assessing the fruit for desired varietal flavours and quality.
Schild Estate's full bodied reds are crushed into either open or static stainless steel fermenters where selected yeast strains are used. During fermentation the wines are either gently pumped over or punched down by hand according to winemaker specifications so as to obtain optimal colour and retain complex fruit flavours. Wines are then drained and pressed to barrel. Free run and pressings are usually kept separate and combination of new and aged French, American and Hungarian oak are used across the range for maturation of between 12-24 months. The wines are then prepared for bottling with many seeing further time in bottle before release.
