Skarnes is the administrative centre of Sør-Odal municipality, Norway. Its population in 2012 was 2,301, giving rise to a population density of 862 people per Km2.The local railway station, opened in 1862, is served by Kongsvingerbanen. Skarnes is divided by the river Glåma, the longest river in Norway. The river Oppstadåa runs into Glåma at Skarnes. Oppstadåa is one of the longest rivers running both ways in Norway. This effect is created by floods, dams, melting snow in the mountains in spring and low water during summer. Skarnes is the home of folk singer Øystein Sunde.

Tusenfryd is an amusement park at Vinterbro, Norway. The park is located 20 kilometers south of Oslo. Two of the longest motorway corridors in Norway, E6 and E18, meet nearby Tusenfryd and the park is located on the west side near where they meet. SpeedMonster, SuperSplash, ThunderCoaster and SpaceShot make the park visible from the motorway. The park was officially opened on 11 June 1988, after a construction period of 18 months. Skarnes Lekeland

Skarnes Lekeland is a friendly amusement park for the whole family. The park was completely renovated in 2009 and provides kids at all ages great challenges in coordination and movement. All activities in the park are designed to increase mobility and body control. We have two outdoor swimming pools with water slides, a large playground, several different animals and many other activities.
