In this Japan travel guide, we are sharing 25 things to do in Osaka!
Affectionately known as Japan’s Kitchen, Osaka was the first stop of our trip to Japan and a wonderful place to eat! We dove straight into the local cuisine visiting markets, street food stalls, and restaurants that required ordering from ticket vending machines.
But our trip to Osaka (大阪市) wasn’t all food. In between all the eating, we also managed to visit towering skyscrapers, hidden temples, and retro gaming arcades - all of them complete surprises.
So if you’re curious about what there is to see and do in this city, stick around and let us show you 25 things to do in Osaka, Japan!

Day in the Life of a Typical Japanese Couple Moving in Tokyo
A Day in the Life of a Typical Japanese couple moving to Tokyo Apartment for the the first time together. This is a Tokyo day in the life story of a Japanese man and Japanese women deciding to move in together into their new Tokyo home. This is an inside look at Dating in Japan or dating someone Japanese. Before today, they lived in separate Tokyo Apartments but the Japanese apartments were too small so they decided to hire a Japanese moving company to help them with their move to a larger Tokyo apartment. This video shows the Japanese couple's Tokyo life together in their old Japanese apartment and in their new Tokyo apartment. We start the typical Japanese life in the morning and explore Japanese relationship culture with Yujin and Arisa. Living in Tokyo is quite different than most parts of the world. Throughout this day in the life in Japan Tokyo video, we can have an Japanese apartment tour and walk through the Japanese moving company procedures. We explore Japanese life, Japanese culture and Japanese relationship in this video. This video may also be helpful if you are thinking of moving to Japan or want to know more about a Japanese Family or Japanese home life.

-
Yujin is 27 years old, works for IT solutions firm in Tokyo as a sales person and has lived in this Tokyo apartment by Yoyogi Park for 2 years now.
Arisa is 26. They’ve been going out now for a strong 11 months as you can tell by their tooth brushing routine. These days, Arisa sleeps over mosts nights so it was natural for them to start thinking of getting a larger place together that they could share.
So they are moving out of this 1K apartment in Yoyogi. 1K means 1 room, Kitchen and the bath. Pretty typical size for a single person’s apartment in Tokyo. It may be small to most, but since the room’s on the 9th floor it has a pretty decent view.
Also, this main room has 2 closets which is nice since Japanese apartments tend to have minimal storage areas.
He has a medium sized fridge as you can’t really fit anything larger than this in the kitchen. It filled with your standard drinks, fresh vegetables, soy sauce and tea.
In the bathroom area, there’s a washing machine, sink and toilet. The toilet itself has the standard Japanese bidet and controller, as expected in most newer apartments.

Shirakawago Travel Guide (白川郷) | Most Beautiful Place We Visited in Japan
Join us on a day trip to Shirakawago in this travel guide as we explore the most beautiful place we visited in Japan. Shirakawa-go (白川郷) is known for its traditional Japanese farmhouses (gassho) - also known as the praying hand houses for its a-frame shape - in a valley surrounded by mountains. The trip from Takayama was approximately 50 minutes away and cost roughly $20 USD per person.
Our first stop in Shirakawa was the observatory where we had sweeping panoramic views of the incredible architecture and mountains from a high vantage point which cost 200 Yen per person for the local bus. In terms of getting back down, we decided to walk which ended up being a great idea.
Walking around Shirakawago Village you notice houses, shops, rice paddies, and people out doing laundry. We visited in summer; however, every season offers a unique atmosphere in the village. Something fascinating is that cold drinks are refrigerated with mountain running water and trash is to be carried and disposed of by guests.
To cool down we grabbed our first bite which was a refreshing green-tea matcha ice cream for 350 Yen per person. Our next stop was the outdoor open-air museum (600 Yen per person), which ended up being one of our favorite attractions, visiting temples and crossing bridges along the way. We grabbed soba and tempura for lunch.
In the open air museum we visited waterfalls, streams and gassho houses. We ended up just hopping from farmhouse to farmhouse to call down enjoying some free tea along the way.
We visited the Old Fujisaki House where it was free and cool inside.

Shirakawago Travel Guide (白川郷) | Most Beautiful Place We Visited in Japan:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a vlogging travel couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world. Our most recent trip was to Japan where we spent 2 months traveling around the country and visiting the following destinations: Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Nikko, Takayama, Yokohama, Odaiba, Shirakawa-gō and Takao.
During our stay, we visited a mixture of big cities and small rural towns, where we enjoyed eating Japanese street food, trying traditional Japanese cuisine, visiting local attractions and staying in unique accommodations (such as capsule hotels and ryokans) that we are now going to share with you on this channel. The combination and contrast of visiting futuristic cities and traditional countryside areas is what makes travel to Japan so fascinating. Ultra modern versus traditional. This is the essence of Japan.
Our trip to Japan was unforgettable and until now it is one of our favorite countries that we have come to know. However, we only feel as though we just scratched the surface on this trip to Japan. If you want to see more videos from Japan in the future, let us know in the comments that places you'd like us to travel to and food experiences you would like to see on this travel channel.

Kyoto Street Food | Tour of Nishiki Market (錦市場), Japan
Visiting the Nishiki Market in Kyoto, Japan in search of tasty eats! Nishiki Market (錦市場) is the most popular food market in Kyoto and it's a great place to sample some Japanese street food. This is a covered market that stretches out five blocks, with shops and food stands on either side, and there's a lot of seafood on the menu. Most shops tend to specialize in one type of Japanese food and it's worth arriving before the lunch hour if you want to avoid waiting in lines. One thing to note is that Nishiki Market isn't just a food market; you can also buy high-end cookware and cooking utensils. There are shops that specialize in fancy pots, pans and knives, and this has earned Nishiki Market nicknames like Kyoto's Kitchen and Kyoto's Pantry.
Foods we tried at Nishiki Market in Kyoto:
1) Soy Milk Donuts - 10 for ¥300
2) Assorted Sashimi (Octopus, Tuna, Salmon) - 3 for ¥750
3) Bamboo-shaped Fish Cake - ¥350
4) Buttered Scallops - 2 for ¥500
5) Fruit Mochi (Blueberry and Mandarin) - ¥250
6) Fried Calamari - ¥410
7) Caramel Cookie Crepe - ¥390
8) Bubble Milk Tea and Bubble Coconut Tea - ¥320-360
When it comes to Japanese street food in Kyoto, Japan heading over to Nishiki Market is one of your best bets. Aside from great Kyoto Street Food, it is one of the most fascinating places to just people watch as the hustle and bustle of the passing by crowds keeps you mesmerized.
Where is your favorite place to grab street food in Kyoto? Do you have a favorite Japanese street food item? Where is your favorite place to eat street food in Japan? Let us know in the comments below.
Have you been to the Nishiki Market in Kyoto? What would you want to eat there?
