The PERFECT 24 Hours in MELBOURNE! - Laneways, Brunch, St Kilda Penguins & MORE! (Melbourne Guide)

Things to do in Hyams Beach, Jervis Bay & Eden: Melbourne to Sydney Drive
Discover the whitest sand beach in the world: Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay. The Sapphire Coast in New South Wales is an absolutely mind-blowing road trip if you're making your way from Melbourne to Sydney via the coastal route.
Did you miss Part 1 of our guide covering the best places to stop in Victoria? Watch it here:
After we said 'Sayonara' to Victoria and crossed into New South Wales, our first stop was the beautiful township of Eden, roughly a 4-hour drive from Lakes Entrance in Gippsland. From there, it's super easy to explore the vast and scenic Ben Boyd Park and the town's gorgeous beaches and coastlines.
2 days later, I've made up my mind about where I'm going to retire. Plans sorted. We then drove another 2 hours to Bermagui, which was a perfect halfway point to stretch our legs, whip out a picnic and run amuck at the stunning Blue Pool Bermagui. You absolutely have to stop here to admire and enjoy this incredible little spot and, if the weather permits, go for a dip inside.
The real stunner was Hyams Beach located in the bottom half of Jervis Bay in New South Wales. If you want to dig your feet into some of the finest and whitest sand beach in the world, then a few nights here (or even a week) is absolutely necessary. Only a 2-hour day trip from Sydney, Jervis Bay Australia is the perfect getaway from the city to get back in touch with nature. It certainly is one of the most breathtaking Sydney beaches, or probably, in all of Australia. Prove me wrong.
If Jervis Bay isn't on your Melbourne to Sydney itinerary, then you need to rejig that entire plan - right now.

How Expensive is Melbourne? Guide to Costs | Australia Holiday Prices (2019)
Embarking on an Australia holiday and wondering just how expensive cities like Melbourne or Sydney are? We run through all the travel costs, including accommodation, food, transport, attractions, and heaps more.
I'm not even gonna fluff it up, as a local, I'ma say it - the cost of living in Melbourne Australia is pretty darn expensive. That reflects directly onto all the expenses that you will accrue on your Australia holiday. A coffee comes in at $4 and brunch at any café will set you back $25 per person. Accommodation? Youch. Your best bet is Airbnb - even then, saying anywhere in the vicity of the city or Central Business District will definitely eat into your budget.
But, here's the consolation - cheap food can be found and the best transport in the inner city area can be found for free.
Prices in Australia are steep, especially when it comes to visiting attractions, such as zoos and aquariums. So, if you're visiting Australia with kids and intend to visit theme parks and animal sanctuaries - you have the scour the Internet for discounts or get the Entertainment Book or iVenture Card where you can SAVE a whole heap of money on attractions and activities.
☛ iVenture Card:
☛ Entertainment Book:
I hope you're able to put these to good use and save a large chunk of money on attractions, activities, tours and food by utilising these deals. The cost of living in Australia is high, thus, travelling to our beautiful country and continent may seem much less viable. But, I'm also here to assure you that it's very possible to do Melbourne on a budget by being financially strategic on where you eat, what you do, and how you do it.
So bottom line - is Australia expensive? Well, yeah. But if you plan ahead and follow our budget travel tips, Melbourne can be done on a tiiiiiiight budget.
