Saint Croix is an island in the Caribbean Sea, and a county and constituent district of the United States Virgin Islands , an unincorporated territory of the United States. St. Croix is the largest of the islands in the territory. However, the territory's capital, Charlotte Amalie, is located on Saint Thomas. As of the 2010 United States Census, St. Croix's population was 50,601, its highest point is Mount Eagle, at 355 metres . St. Croix's nickname is Twin City, for its two towns on opposite ends of the island, Frederiksted on the western end and Christiansted on the east.

Frederiksted has fewer than 1,000 people in the town proper, but nearly 10,000 in the greater western side of the island.     Estate Judith's Fancy, subdistrict of Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, 4 miles northwest of Christiansted is a former sugarcane plantation whose great house was built in 1733. Its surviving 3.6 acres property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The listing included six contributing sites.The site is significant for being the location of government headquarters during the French occupation of St. Croix during 1651-65, under the Knights of Malta's ownership, as well as for preserving remnants of typical buildings of a sugar plantation.
