For many years I've heard rumors of a paradise north of Toronto, so last weekend I decided to go check it out. Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula are gorgeous destinations in Canada and offer some of the clearest water in the world with visibility that easily reaches depths up to 25 meters.

The 4-hour drive can be a bit steep but luckily it is a comfortable drive with many valley's and towns on the way to keep you inspired. Crucial things to consider are: bring enough gas (there are not many gas stations on the peninsula), bring swim-gear/scuba gear & bring crocks.
1. Shipwreck Diving
Best scuba diving spot in Canada.
2. Fish & Chip Place
Best fish & chips in Canada.
3. Flowerpot Island
Raw nature at its finest, you may find snakes & large spiders on this island.
4. The Grotto
The gem on the peninsula with a hidden underwater tunnel.
5. Indian Head Cove
Gorgeous rough coastline and popular tourist attraction.
The 5 best kept secrets in Tobermory that I listed are not in chronological order but I do consider the shipwreck diving as a definite hightlight! But I'd like to remind you that advanced swimming skills are required.

At Flowerpot Island we ran into many clean-cut shaped rocks, now I have a small obsession with archeology and especially with the Yonaguni monument which some consider a man-made structure and lies deep in the east china sea off the coast of Taiwan. It is estimated to be more than 10,000 years old making it the oldest man-made structure in the world if the theory holds true, but after seeing these clean-cut slabs I start to think that Yonaguni may actually be a natural phenomenon, if you are interested, watch the documentary by Graham Hancock.
With Yonaguni being a little off topic, I do like to stress my fellow Canadians to at least make this trip once in your lifetime to really get an idea of what the province of Ontario has to offer.

Wasaga...Something for everyone!
Everyone who knows Ontario, knows Wasaga Beach. With five separate beaches on the longest freshwater beach in the world, Wasaga has been a truly fabulous summer holiday destination for over a century. But wait, there's more...much more to Wasaga!
Wasaga is also a true year-round get away from it all holiday destination with a huge range of fantastic sports and outdoor activities plus the added benefits of the healthiest air you could imagine.
There's endless outdoor adventure recreation trails for hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, plus hockey rinks (bring up your team) and curling.
Just a touch over an hour north of Toronto and only 10 minutes from Blue Mountain, Wasaga has plenty of reasonably priced accommodations and great restaurants to suit everyone's tastes..
GCAT arrived on Family Day 2013 and shot the amazing wide variety of events at Snowman Mania. We met a ton of terrific people and truly had a grand old time!
Be sure to pencil in Family Day and Snowman Mania at Wasaga in 2014!
PS: You might also visit Stonebridge by the Bay and buy a beautiful new getaway vacation home at decade old prices!
Taking Off From Toronto Pearson International Airport with Aerial Views of Greater Toronto Area
Take Off from Toronto Pearson International Airport, Aerial Views of Toronto Suburbs (Mississauga, Brampton, and Halton)
Airplane takes off from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), heading west. The airplane flies over northern Mississauga, just south of Brampton. Here are some of the places you see in the video (in order of appearance): Etobicoke Creek (0:37), Dixie Rd (Hwy 5) (0:53), Tomken Rd (1:07), Highway 410 (1:15), Kennedy Rd (1:23), Hwy 401 (1:33 - at bottom of video), Hurontario St. (Hwy 10) (1:34), McLaughlin Rd, Mavis Rd, Highway 407, Derry Rd, Mississauga Rd, Erin Mills Parkway, Lake Aquitaine, Glen Erin Dr, Meadowvale Town Centre, Winston Churchill Blvd, 10th Line West, Forest Park Dr, Trelawny Cr, 9th Line W. (the western boundary of Mississauga and Peel Region), Hwy 407, Town of Milton in Halton Region.
After passing 9th Line W. and flying past Mississauga, you can see that the houses and buildings suddenly stop and it is all farmland. All of this is part of the town of Milton in Halton Region. There's also a built up part of Milton in the middle of all the farms, that I think is visble in the top part of the video. There's a provincial jail (Maplehurst) located in that area.
