Traveling with Viking Homelands - Peterhof Palace, Russia
Traveling with Viking Homelands Ocean Cruise, May 26 - June 9, 2018. From Bergen to Stockholm.
We arrived to St. Petersburg, Russia ( earlier morning on June 5th and stayed there for two days.
We had 10 hours of excursions on June 5th and 6 hr of excursions on June 6th.
One of St. Petersburg's most famous and popular visitor attractions, the palace and park at Peterhof (also known as Petrodvorets) are often referred to as the Russian Versailles, although many visitors conclude that the comparison does a disservice to the grandeur and scope of this majestic estate. Peterhof originated in the early 1700s and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site now.
Versailles was, however, the inspiration for Peter the Great's desire to build an imperial palace in the suburbs of his new city and, after an aborted attempt at Strelna, Peterhof - which means Peter's Court in German - became the site for the Tsar's Monplaisir Palace, and then of the original Grand Palace. The estate was equally popular with Peter's daughter, Empress Elizabeth, who ordered the expansion of the Grand Palace and greatly extended the park and the famous system of fountains, including the truly spectacular Grand Cascade.
Improvements to the park continued throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. Catherine the Great, after leaving her own mark on the park, moved the court to Pushkin, but Peterhof once again became the official Imperial Residence in the reign of Nicholas I, who ordered the building of the modest Cottage Palace in 1826.
Like almost all St. Petersburg's suburban estates, Peterhof was ravaged by German troops during the Second World War. It was, however, one of the first to be resurrected and, thanks to the work of military engineers as well as over 1,000 volunteers, the Lower Park opened to the public in 1945 and the facades of the Grand Palace were restored in 1952. The name was also de-Germanicized in 1944, becoming Petrodvorets, the name under which the surrounding town is still known. The palace and park are once again known as Peterhof.
Russia was the only country where we needed to go through the passport control and security every time when we were going from the ship to the city or coming back to the ship. We visited 6 counties before Russia and in every one of them were free to go from/to the ship without being checked individually by local authorities. When we went for the first excursion in St. Pete, I was nervous. The window with a man behind it was high, I could see only his head and part of the face. When I gave him my passport, he looked at me at told me to step back and looked at me again. He asked me if I understand Russian. Like at the time of my life in the Soviet Union I felt myself belittled again...

Our cozy privately owned hotel is located in the very heart of the town of Pushkin, the summer residence of the Russian tsars and emperors. It is set a short distance from the St. Petersburg airport and within the walking distance from the world renowned Catherin Palace with its famous Amber room, Alexander Palace, the residence of the last Russian Tsar Nicolas II and his family, as well as the Lyceum, the school of Alexander Pushkin, Russian poet whose name bears the town nowadays.
The Tsars Village, the old name of the town of Pushkin, is located 25 km away from St. Petersburg, surrounded by the landscape parks and historical landmarks of Pavlovsk, Gatchina, Peterhof, Strelna and Oranienbaum, the suburban summer residences of the Russian emperors. The town is set high above the sea level and therefore has its own unique micro climate.

Zаrskoje Selo (Puschkin) befindet sich 25 km entfernt vom Stadtzentrum St. Petersburg, neben den Landschaftsparks und architektonischen Monumenten von Pawlowsk, Gatschina, Peterhof, Strelna, Oranienbaum.
Die hohe Lage der Stadt über dem Meeresniveau bestimmt ihre besondere Mikroklima: es gibt hier weniger Niederschläge und mehr sonnige Tage, als in Sankt Petersburg.

Храм всех религий , друзья
самое главное, что с парковкой здесь проблемы нет
пожалуйста, паркуйся хоть на корабле, хоть на танке
находится он немного за городом Казань
рядом даже деревенский дом как-то притесался
концепция храма одновременно и безумна, и адекватна
на каждой из башен разные символы
некоторые символы религий мне неизвестны. например, этот крест, что он значит?
что это за концессия? полумесяц полагаю мусульманство
или этот, тоже непонятно
так что наслаждайтесь зрелищем
по внешнему виду непонятно, в какое время он построен
то ли совсем новый, то ли совсем старый
такое ощущение, что стены старые , а купола новые
рядом продолжение сериала
есть третяя серия , ее плохо видно из-за солнца
но вдалеке видно красный купол в том же стиле
все это один ансамбль
люди даже из деревень приезжают посмотреть
у входа кто-то напоминающий Будду сидит
и можно войти посмотреть внутри
рядом вот такая инсталляция
странная, ржавая, что-то здесь было. но что - уже совсем непонятно
интересно будет почитать про этот храм
кто , что , зачем, что за бред?
но концепция мне очень нравится. потому что Бог един
и по большому счету какая разница
что Рон Хаббард, что Иисус
шучу конечно. Рон Хаббард вообще не бог
храм оказался как будто бесплатным, но я на подношения оставил кое-что
внутри такой вольный стиль..

я веду репортаж из Казани..
где празднует свое.. 51-летие Храм всех религий
я поговорил с хозяйкой.. во всяком случае эта женщина взяла у меня деньги за вход
я думал, что вход бесплатный. на деле 50 рублей
и я пожертвовал еще 100 рублей помимо входа
эта женщина.. она на вид молодая пенсионерка
сказала, что ее брат начал Храм
в 1976 году начал строить..
потом другой родственник продолжил
я ее спросил? а как администрация города относилась к такой инициативе в советские годы?
она сказала, что всем было пофиг. и что здесь отражено 16 конфессий
в итоге ее брат себя увековечил
наверное это его фотографии там повсюду висят
а люди постоянно подъезжают сюда
кстати вот идет дама, которая меня инструктировала
специально уходит, чтобы не светиться
смотрите , закрывает лицо
если хотите стать бессмертным, постройте такую штуку.. в другом городе
по большому счету заведение находится просто за городом среди дач
т.е. создатель храма построил такой креативный загородный дом, больше чем обычно
а напротив красивая речка, пристань загулявшего поэта,
и такой земляной аппендикс насыпной, по типу Дубая, с элитным жильем
собственно к этому я и вел..

по питерским меркам это место - симпатичный пригород
города Стрельна или Ломоносов, или даже Петродворец
вроде рядом с городом, и не в городе
