TANSEN PALPA - NEPAL (श्वोर्ग को एउटा टुकडा पाल्पा शहर)
TANSEN PALPA
Get charmed by one of the off-the-beaten-track destinations in Nepal, the ancient hill town of Tansen. Walk its cobbled bazaar to find a perfect Dhaka topi for yourself. Traverse around Shreenagar Hills, do a day hike to the Rani Mahal on the banks of the Kali Gandaki River or go backpacking along the river trail to find enchanting new routes.
Midway between the Indian border and Pokhara, Tansen's old artistic Newari houses, and cobbled streets, are waiting to be discovered. Palpa was the seat of the Sen kingdom that ruled over this region from 16th century for almost 300 years.
A picturesque hill town lying on the lap of the Shreenagar Hills, Tansen is the headquarters of Palpa district and the hub of the mid west culture of Nepal. The district varies from 250 to 2,000 m in elevation.
The town has houses strongly influenced by traditional Newari architecture. The name Tansen has its origin in the Magar language, meaning northern settlement. Palpa with its diverse culture and religion falls in the twelve Magar regions of West Nepal. Tansen can be visited at any time of the year. While the climate of Palpa varies from tropical to moderate, Tansen is moderate to warm with temperatures between 28 degree Celsius maximum during summer and 8 degree Celsius minimum in the winter. The months of June and July have maximum rain.
There are regular buses from Kathmandu to Tansen - 296 km from Kathmandu via Butwal and about 324 km from Kathmandu via Pokhara. You can take a daily-scheduled flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara or Bhairahawa. Tansen is conveniently near Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, and the popular tourist destination of Pokhara. It is about 3-4 hours drive from either of these cities.

One of the Best Place of Nepal - RAMPUR | PALPA
Rampur is a municipality in Palpa District in Lumbini Zone of West southern Nepal. The municipality was established on 18 May 2014 by merging the existing Gadakot, Gegha, Khaliban and Darchha Village Development Committees.
Kali Gandaki river flows through some villages of Rampur such as Gaudan, Dhakaldanda, Pyakluk at the edge of Talpokhara. Kali Gandaki itself is famous for rafting. Many tourists visit Rampur each year for rafting. Tourists can go for trekking as Rampur is surrounded by hills on all sides. The view of mountain Makalu and Annapurna has added more beauty to Rampur. The tourism industry has not yet been developed because of the lack of resources. There is widely known and famous place known as Talpokhara, which is the historical place by the point of view for tourism. In Talpokhara there is a temple and different parks to visit. If the temple and other resources are built in time that will be good for Rampur and as well as Nepal for economic development. At that temple lord Shiva is worshiped in Mahashivaratri; most of the people go there to worship lord Shiva as well as to visit Talpokhara.

पाल्पाकाे एेतिहासीक भगबति रथ यान्रा (bhagawati jatra in tansen ) dont miss specially from 11 to16min
पाल्पाकाे एेतिहासीक भगबति रथ यान्राBhagwati Jatra is being observed today in Tansen, an ancient hill town of Palpa. Witnessing more than thousands of people, from, in and around the town, Bhagwati jatra is one of the major festivals of Tansen.
The residents spend the night before at the temple, singing and dancing in worship of the powerful Bhagwati goddess, then carry her chariot through the town In the memory of victory over English armies during the Anglo-Nepal War, Palpa – Tansen had started celebrating ‘Bhagwati Jatra’ each year on krishna janmastami. This year, Palpa has celebrated this ‘Bhagwati Jatra’ with a great joy under the blessing of Goddess Bhagwati
Chariot of goddess Bhagwati i starts revolving from its own temple, Bhagwatitol and completes its revolution after paying its visit at every corners of Palpa.
Then ruling Colonel, Ujir Singh Thapa had promised to establish the temple for goddess Bhagwati if he would have received victory against ‘marching’ English armies. After the war he kept his promise and since then this festival is celebrated with the great amount of pleasure and pride.
To observe this festival, the audience come from many parts of Western Nepal like, Gulmi, Syangja, Pokhara Butwal, etc.

Palpa Community Homestay
Tansen, perched high above the Kali Gandaki River on the road between Butwal and Pokhara, is far enough off the radar to make it a rewarding detour for independent travelers. Tansen’s main attraction is both its Newari charm and distinct medieval feel. Lining Tansen’s steep cobblestone streets, which are too steep for cars, are wooden Newari houses with intricately carved windows, from where the clacking of looms can be heard. On winter mornings a blanket of mist is cast over the bowl-shaped Madi Valley, earning it the moniker ‘White Lake’.
Chatting to locals, you’ll find they’re fiercely proud of their home town, which no doubt stems from its rich history during the glory years as the capital of the Magar kingdom of Tanahun. Until the rise of the Shahs (last kings of Nepal), Tanahun was one of the most powerful kingdoms in Nepal. Troops from Palpa even came close to conquering Kathmandu in the 16th century under the leadership of King Mukunda Sen. The power of the Magars (kings of Palpa) waned in the 18th century, and Tansen was reinvented as a Newari trading post on the trade route between India and Tibet.
Today Tansen remains the administrative headquarters of Palpa district, and many Nepalese still refers to the town as Palpa. The town escaped serious damage in the 2015 earthquake.
Spending in this town and going around the surrounding would be a great idea for domestic and global tourists. It would be even more interesting if the visitors choose Homestay as it allows to know the people and the culture of Tansen even closer.
Golghar is the historic and central landmark of Tansen. Thadogalli is the steep lane connected to Golghar square which leads to seven Homestays of the city. The majority of Homestay houses is owned by Newars. Still, there are few houses from Brahmins and Magar. All houses follow Atithi Devo Bhava principle. Located under the lap of Shrinagar hill, there is a great view of sunrise, white lake, Tudhikhel and the main market for all the houses. These houses reflect the rich culture of Tansen integrated with rich hospitality experience to the guests.
