Ramnagar Fort is a fortification in Ramnagar, Varanasi, India. It is located near the Ganga River on its eastern bank, opposite to the Tulsi Ghat. The sandstone structure was built in the Mughal style in 1750 by Kashi Naresh Raja Balwant Singh. At present, the fort is not in a good shape. It has been the home of Kashi Naresh since the eighteenth century. The current king and the resident of the fort is Anant Narayan Singh, who is also known as the Maharaja of Varanasi even though this royal title has been abolished since 1971. The museum is known as Saraswati Bhawan. The museum is in what used to be the Durbar Hall or the Public Audience Hall of the fort.[3] It is well known for its unusual and rare collections of American vintage cars, bejeweled sedan chairs, ivory work, medieval costumes, gold and silver brocaded royal Palakis (Palanquins in the shape of a lotus flower). It has elephant saddles carved out of silver, jewellery, costumes made of kimkhwa silk (finest product of the weavers of Varanasi), an impressive armoury hall with swords, old guns from Africa, Burma and Japan. The old armoured matchlocks, ornate hookahs, daggers, portraits of Maharajas, black musical instruments which have turned white due to neglect of maintenance and there is a rare astronomical clock.[2] This clock shows not only the time but also the year, month, week and day, and the astronomical details of the Sun, Moon and other planets. This clock was made in 1852 by the Astronomer at the Court of the Royal Palace of Varanasi. In addition, manuscripts, especially religious writings, are housed in the museum. Many books illustrated in the Mughal miniatures style are also part of the collections.
Crown of Jaipur | Hyperlapse
It has been more than one year since 'Go Delhi Go | Hyperlapse' and I felt like producing a second one from India. Just when I was thinking about which Indian city should I gun for, Jaipur - The Pink City, came into the picture. Well, that's because last year I got to see a just a bit of this city, when I attended the wedding of my friends. So I read a bit about the city and tried to understand what makes it what it is today and it only made me take the journey sooner. I hope to take you into past with this film.
If I were to do another hyperlapse video, which Indian city should it be? Let me know in the comments section below.

Headhunters of Nagaland-Episode 52 sd
After more than 20 yrs, Nagaland was finally been opened to Westerners, so I was determined to visit and verify that the headhunters had all been converted to Christianity...
For more videos, visit and for more details, maps & facts visit
Nagaland is a remote jungle area in NE India that has more in common with its neighbor Myanmar. I discovered that the past is not so distant in this part of the world.
To put a buck in my tip jar visit
Headhunters of Nagaland Video Details
Mon town is the district capital in the state of Nagaland, a remote region of NE India along the Myanmar border. It is best known for its 13 headhunting tribes.
The area is so remote that it has never been militarily conquered. That is until the US army arrived in WWII to build a road through Burma to support the anti-communist Chinese.
Like the British before them, the US Army preferred to leave them alone. However, the Southern Baptist missionaries were of a different mind.
They waged a war of conversion and since the 1950’s the tribes have officially abandoned headhunting and have converted to Christianity.
In some cases there are some obvious benefits. However, the area is still in a state of war. A war of independence and only last year was the state opened to foreigners.
So I decided that I needed to leave the modern town and visit a local village so I could verify that headhunting really was a thing of the past.
It doesn’t take long to exit the town of Mon (I was heading to the village of Leangha). The way is clearly marked and trails are obvious
All villages have at least one Morang (or long house) where the young warriors slept until married.
Without electricity life in the village can be very dark and rustic.
Each village has a king who still governs from his throne room. Gongs captured from other villages over time are always of pride. And skulls are still in fashion. Hornbill beaks, elephant jaws to name a few.
But these weren’t the skulls I was looking for. The king assured me that these are all pre-1945 human skulls and that his people are now good Christians
Thinking about the Christian crusades made me wonder about that statement.
So 65 years after WWII, Nagaland is civilized after all.
