2. Domuyo El Techo de la PatagoniaChos Malal The Domuyo Volcano is a stratovolcano located in the Argentine province of Neuquén. With a height of 4,702 m , it is the highest mountain in Patagonia and is sometimes called the Roof of Patagonia .The volcano has a large 15 kilometres wide caldera. At least 14 dacite lava domes are found within the caldera, with another five outside. Its slopes contain many fumaroles, hot springs and geysers. It names derives from the Mapuche meaning To tremble and grumble, probably due to the geothermal activity of the volcano. Epu lauquen Epu lauquen deviene de Epu- lafquen que en lengua Mapuche significa “dos lagunas”, y posee en total 7.450 has. localizadas al noroeste de la Provincia, a 40 km. de la localidad de Las Ovejas dentro del departamento Minas. El área natural protegida Epu Lauquen se encuentra en cercanías de la localidad de Las Ovejas, en el departamento Minas, en el noroeste de la provincia del Neuquén, en el sector cordillerano de la Patagonia argentina.
