Helsinki Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Finland’s thriving waterfront capital, Helsinki, is situated at the northeastern edge of the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Russia.
Start voyaging through Helsinki’s history by taking the ferry from Market Square to Suomenlinna Fortress, the battlements of which have protected the Gulf of Finland for almost 300 years.
Helsinki has an abundance of museums and galleries across the city, including the Helsinki Design Museum, which features a permanent exhibition devoted to the great moments of Finnish design.
Continue your design journey at Temppeliaukio Church, a favorite with touring musicians. Helsinki is home to many structures dedicated to theatrical and musical productions. Two of the most iconic are Finlandia Hall and the Helsinki Music Centre.
Wander through Esplanadi, often referred to as the living room of the city. From here, walk north to Senate Square, which fans out from the fatherly gaze of Emperor Alexander II.
Climb the stairs to the foot of Helsinki Cathedral, a breathtaking whitewashed structure that towers above the rest of the city. Stare up at the twelve apostles, ten-foot-tall zinc statues which stand like wise custodians.
In stark contrast to Helsinki Cathedral is its brooding younger brother, Uspenski Cathedral. Built with dark bricks, the cathedral is powerfully conspicuous as it rises from the surrounding white granite of the Katajanokka district.
Celebrations of education and creativity mean Helsinki is a city designed for life. Its long-held reputation as one of the world’s happiest places lures people from all over the world. And now, it is calling to you.

Säbyleden på Tjörn. Säby kile naturreservat. Sweden.
Den 3 april gick vi den 7 km långa Säbyleden. En mycket trevlig promenad i gammalt bohuslänskt kustlandskap.

Norway,Valldal to Geiranger by bus,dangerous road-Trip to Norwegian Fjords-part 28-Travel,calatorii
Road 63 through Valldal connects, Trollstigen and Geiranger, two of Norway's major attractions, to each other. Because of its natural beauty, involving both wild, alpine mountains, green fertile valleys and deep fjords, and impressive road constructions, the route was previously called the Golden Route. Now the stretch is named one of Norway's 18 National Tourist Route.

Entry Title: Igloo Village & Dog-sledding in Winter Wonderland
Entry:
Cecilia, a wonderful Swedish woman, builds this igloo village on the edge of Stor Skabram each year in time for the market week. She teaches people to build the igloos and supplies warming tea and coffee in the nearby teepee. If you're hardy and brave you can sleep in an igloo overnight! A great place to see the Northern Lights because it is well away from any light pollution.
This is also the place to go dog-sledding or just watch the huskies being harnessed and riding off into the sun. I went on a night ride, which was magical although hard to photograph. We were given hot toasties and coffee in a teepee after about an hour and half, much needed in the cold.
The dogs are Siberian Huskies and they are full of energy and can't wait to pull the sled. They will pull and rest, pull and rest, and then stop leaving enough energy to get back. Whereas the Alaskan Husky (bred with working dogs) will run until they have nothing left. Not great as it leaves you stranded in the cold!
