Catanduanes is an island province located in the Bicol Region of Luzon in the Philippines. It is the 12th-largest Island in the Philippines. Its capital is Virac and the province lies to the east of Camarines Sur across Maqueda Channel.

Virac, Catanduanes in a nutshell
Catanduanes is famous for its great waves and is also known as the “Land of the Howling Winds” mainly because it is the first landmass in the Philippines to kiss the Pacific Ocean
Virac, the unassuming capital of Catanduanes province geographically located in the easternmost part of the Bicol Peninsula but separated from the mainland Bicol.
TOP TOURIST SPOTS:
• Balacay Point – a pastoral cliff often compared to Batanes
• Puraran Surf Beach – is fast gaining attention for surfing Similar to Siargao. Thanks for the waves, Pacific Ocean!
• Polo Island – the paradise island with its crystal clear water

The best place to experience the real beach life is to find an island which is still unpopulated by tourists, stay in a beach house like Majestic Puraran where you can surf on a crystal clear perfect pipe waves, eat fresh seafoods - like you own it feels. Perfect for long vacation.
30 minute hike to Bote Lighthouse is not tiring at all once you reached it, everything you will see is perfect.
