What is car hire excess insurance in Australia?
Should you get car hire excess insurance or not? This video can help you better understand what your financial liability is when renting a car in Australia.
Not many people know that anyone who rents a car in Australia has a financial liability. Car rental companies usually cover the insurance of the vehicle, however the customer needs to pay the excess if the vehicle is damaged or stolen. In this video, we explained what damage liability fee and damage recovery fee are.
To better understand what car hire excess is, we shared an example of a potential repair cost that showed how much the rental car company will pay and how much the customer needs to pay. Whether the accident was the driver’s fault or not, the cost of the damage will be charged to the customer and any excess amount will be covered by the car rental company. However, the customer may receive reimbursement once the car rental company has retrieved the funds from the party at fault.
To reduce the excess amount, customers protect themselves by purchasing a car hire excess insurance. This can be purchased online or at the car rental counter. This product will lower the excess amount thus reducing the customer’s out-of-the-pocket expenses. Remember, it is not mandatory to get a rental vehicle insurance when hiring a car in Australia, but it will come in handy when a customer gets into an accident.

10th GALL BOYS AUSTRALIAN 4X4 OFFROAD ADVENTURE
After a bit of a break from the cameras, things fell into place for getting away to test some new product on an adventure from Fraser Island, through central Queensland, back out on the northern coast to visit some private stations on the tropical coast and back across on a track we've had a long history with getting through....the Old Maytown Track, all in Australia's mid-summer heat! This is by far our most testing of trips and here's a bit of a highlight we hope you enjoy!
Have appreciated the amount of interest & following over the years very much! So Thank You Very Much for watching! At the end of the day, we put the gear through these conditions to both test and develop for manufacturing better caravans & also for testing the vehicles, accessories & tyres!
Have donated 100% of licence fees paid from production companies when airing clips on TV networks here & in the USA to support various charities, so at the end of the day it helps the community as a whole!
Thanks again, and safe travels!
The new DVD will be set for release end of May / early June!

Sydney Flightseeing
This was a special flightseeing trip with my wifes' uncle in his small 2 - seater Zephyr kit plane back in April 2005. We took off from The Oaks (a little past Camden), and took a route across Camden and Narellan to Parramatta, across to Palm Beach & The Central Coast, and then turned and made our way down the coast to Stanwell Park and Bulli on the NSW South Coast. We then turned at Bulli and climed over the ridge before heading back to The Oaks. A spectacularly clear day, and some amazing Sydney coastal scenery.
Unfortunately, this and my Taree trip with uncle Ken are the last times I had this opportunity to have this kind of experience, as sadly Ken passed away in a tragic car accident on the 3rd of December 2008. His enthusiasm for life and adventurous attitude will be sadly missed.
Fraser Island 4x4 Camping - Indian Head Ep 3
#timbates4wdadventures
Fraser Island, what can you say?
Stunning views from Indian Head.
Fraser Island beaches are some of the best you will see anywhere in Australia.
Apart from the fact it is a stunning place to explore in your 4wd.
The beach driving is amazing when the tide conditions are suitable.
Plus the stunning views from the walk out on top of Indian Head.
Well worth taking that walk and check out the glorious views down the Eastern beach and back towards Champaign Pools.
Episode 4 will be the final episode in this Fraser Island adventure.
Next Monday night at 6.45pm.
