On the Cotswold Way and Cleeve Hill
A 21km (13 mile) circular walk following part of the Cotswold Way near Cheltenham on a warm day in early spring. We visited Cleeve Hill - the highest point in the Cotswolds - and also Belas Knap, a 5,000-year-old neolithic long barrow (tomb). We set off from the village of Whittington and walked a clockwise route, which was full of interest and surprises. It took about 5 hours including picnic stops. Thank you to all subscribers - we are close to the magic 100!

Five weires walk River Don part 2, Sheffield, UK
The 8 km long Five Weirs Walk runs alongside the River Don in Sheffield, England. From Lady's Bridge in Sheffield City Centre, it heads downstream, northeast, over the Cobweb Bridge, through Attercliffe to Meadowhall.
53.414°N 1.411°W
As the name of the walk suggests, it passes five weirs. It is now possible to continue the walk along the Don, under the Tinsley Viaduct, to Rotherham. As of 2010, the section of the walk between Sheffield and Meadowhall has been linked with the parallel Sheffield and Tinsley Canal towpath as an 8 mile circular walk known as The Blue Loop.

The Five Weirs Walk Trust Ltd is a registered charity set up in 1986. Its primary aim is to open up the 7.5km of River Don to public access through Sheffield's East End.
The Trust's activities are carried out by the Directors supported by a network of volunteers, many of whom have registered as Friends of the Trust in order to be included in information mailings etc.
Activities include Clean Ups, Educational Talks, Guided Walks and to provide assistance for those with an interest in the walk for educational purposes etc. Details of planned activities will be posted on this website.
