Uzi-Eli Hezi (Hebrew: עוזי-אלי חזי), also known as The Etrog Man is a vendor, inventor, farmer, healer, and spiritual adviser.[1] He owns a booth at the Mahane Yehuda Market market in the Nachlaot neighborhood of Jerusalem. He is noted for his use of Maimonidean and ancient remedies in his juices and cosmetics, particularly from the etrog.[1] Two of his more popular drinks include etrogat, a combination of the etrog and the gat leaf and Rambam's drink, a mixture of dates and bitter and sweet almonds,[2] along with other drinks which are labeled with various alleged health benefits.

MY ISRAEL STORY (4K)
I do not believe any two people share the same story... therefore we must respect the opinion of the other.
This past January, I joined my class for the culmination of our studies on an exploration of Israel. Together this group set out to see first-hand a diverse land and meet a wide range of people. From the cities to the deserts, through hikes across the country, and from the southern tip to the rural areas of the north, we explored the stories of those who inhabit this unique piece of land and began to understand ourselves along the way. This mini-documentary follows our collective journey.

Boundary pushing NYC graffiti artists to beautify Israeli cities
A group of New Yorks finest urban artists are heading to Sderot and Kiryat Gat on April 24th to bring color to the two Israeli cities.
Israeli graffiti artists who will be both their guides and partners in this mission will join the American artists. Together, the Americans and Israelis will beautify two cities scarred by the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, and equip the traumatized children of the region with artistic tools.
Their mission is called the Murality Project, joining the words mural and morality to evoke justice through art, explains Meital Dohan, the Israeli actress now famous for her role on the hit American Showtime TV series Weeds.
Dohan is the official spokesperson of Artists 4 Israel, the New York based non-profit organization that is sponsoring the trip as part of its mission to foster exchanges between communities of artists in Israel and around the world who wish to express through artistic mediums their support of Israels right to exist in peace and security.
The artists are hoping that teaching Israeli kids graffiti will help them to not just leave their mark on local walls, but write a better future for the region, says Craig Dershowitz, Artists 4 Israel President. Together they will transform the grim reminders of war bomb shelters, fortified playgrounds, the carcasses of homes burned out beyond repair, and even the stark remains of rockets into soaring masterpieces of freedom and expression.
But Dershowitz says that will only be the beginning of the benefits of this remarkable trip.
The participating American artists include CYCLE, SUEWORKS, and Ame72 among other urban luminaries. Fathers of the graffiti movement Tracy168 and MED have committed to helping from the sidelines by sending in sketches of possibilities for each of the sites.
Each of the artists has their own reasons for participating. One of the graffiti muralists, C.J. Reilly III, lost two cousins in the World Trade Center on September 11. But all hope to contribute something positive and be exposed to a new culture.
Following their three-day journey in the South, the artists will visit Jerusalem and then spend a few days in Tel Aviv. While in Tel Aviv, the artists will continue to paint murals of hope and solidarity and finally exhibit the work that they will create on canvases while on their journey in Israel along with documentary material created and collected: photos, videos and memorabilia.
Prior to arriving to Israel, the artists will produce works of art expressing their expectations and then pieces about what they actually experience. They will stay at the homes of Israelis, visit local galleries, and simply enjoy the excitement of Tel Avivs vibrant culture and nightlife.
After spending more than a week working side-by-side with Israeli artists - living with them, eating with them and traveling the length and breadth of the country with their Israeli peers, the New Yorkers are going to have a lot of positive experiences to share when they get home, says Dershowitz.
We hope they will then tell people about a different side to Israel than usually gets reported in the media, a country not defined by past conflicts but filled with a vibrant youth culture looking towards a bright future for everyone in the region.

My life in the U.S. was just as interesting then my days of traveling. Eventually I retired after living in New Jersey for over 40 years. I thank the American Embassy Lady in Dublin who gave me my original visa months before and again the second time The first visa had expired for to be used because I decided to travel around Europe and Israel for about 8 months. The Irish girl's who worked the visa counter in the Embassy refused me a visa so I asked to speak to the American lady who gave me the first visa on my previous visit. After finding her in her office I told her the story and then she brought me back to the Irish girl's who refused at first to even talk to me for any length of time when I first entered. They jumped to attention when the American lady and I walked into the room and then she said to me that New York could be difficult for me to enter and my reply to that was I'm returning to Australia and she asked me then how soon did I need the visa. I told her as soon as possible and she than said good come back later and pick it up. After I thanked her and said good bye she said to me by the way as I began to walk away she said I read about you in the newspaper. I returned a hour later and the Embassy was all locked up with big gates and security guys floating about so I approached the main guy and told him that I had planned to pick up my visa at this time so he asked me my name so I told him and at that he took my passport out of his inside pocket and gave it to me.
What a bizarre incident this whole approach starting with the Irish girls who more or less threw me out who thought I was some unbalanced individual who wouldn't leave the American Embassy until he spoke to a American lady who he spoke to on his last visit.
I took her advice and traveled across the Atantic by Greek cargo ship from Tenerife to Rio de Janeiro and traveled west as far as I could go by road to Porto Velho and then plane to Rio Branco. From there by river boat to Manaus and from there river boat on the Amazon to Leticia and then plane to Iquitos and after a week a mid-night flight to Lima on a Peruvian military plane for a small donation.
After a couple of weeks rest I took a long distant bus after bus ride through Peru, Ecuador and Colombia until I reached Bogota the capital city of Colombia and that was all that had to be done to reach the last leg of my trip that had started back in Dublin to enter the U.S.A. through the back door.
Sudanese guy who came to my rescue from a group of kids hassling me in Omdurman but meant no harm and because of that he invited me to his home to have lunch with his family. After lunch we had a Sudanese treat called Pongo tea'' that was offered as if it was the norm in Sudan after a meal. Maasia Warrior Marsabit - Kenya. Over night stop at the Taj Mahal - Agra on my overland trip from London to Australia. It was overland with the exception of two flights, Calcutta to Bangkok, Dili East Timor to Darwin and island hopping through out Indonesia which was the toughest part of the trip which took a total of five months from London to Darwin. The Zulu women who wear a Isicholo have to sleep on head rest small bench. This is genuine true Zulu '' Isicholo'' hat interwoven into the hair with grass, cotton and clay that is sewn into the hair that lasts a couple of months at least and today true ''Isicholo'' are nonexistent and are replaced by manufactured imitations worn exclusivly for ceremonial events. The population of Venice has decreased signficantly over the years. Venice economy today depends almost totally on the tourist and has become more expensive so residence have gradually ttyÿmoved to the outlying suburbs to avoid the 20 million tourists each year and the soaring property prices. Venice has a more serious problem and that is the sea level is rising and causing approximately a hundred floods per year. The old city of Jerusalem consists of four quarters:Christian - Armenian - Jewish - Muslim. Ndebele Tribe - Transvaal - South Africa. The rings (copper/brass) are called Idzila indicate a sign of wealth and status. Married women were only allowed to wear rings that symbolises her bond and faithfulness to her husband. Jewish Moroccan Museum and archive update nov 25
The Moroccan Jewish Museum and Archive for Living Culture
Sedot Micah, Judean Hills Region, Israel
A Video Abstract
This video describes briefly the building of the Moroccan Jewish Museum and Archive for Living Culture at Sedot Micah, Judean Hills Region, Israel.
The museum and archive project is intended to serve as a model for the rehabilitation of rural villages in Israel`s outskirts.
The ultimate objective of the project is to encourage multi-cultural development in Israel and inter-cultural tolerance, and anchor them in an underlying and self sustaining structure of productive economic, educational and cultural activities.
What is a Museum for Living Culture?
The Moroccan Jewish Museum for Living Culture intends to present multi-media exhibits, which offer visitors active participation through workshops, lectures, as well as food and entertainment festivals. For example, along an exhibition of copper arts and crafts items, there would be videos of craftsmen producing similar work, a craftsman at work, as well as, workshops for interested visitors. There would be also a museum shop selling reproductions as well as original works made of copper. The museum may also initiate an open market to sell and exchange offers used and antique copper work in conjunction an exhibit.
The museum will produce a series of activities based on the cycle of life and holidays of a specific Jewry, i.e., the Moroccan Jewry. For example, an exhibition focusing on circumcision, would offer items relating to circumcision (Elijahs chair, circumcision knifes, related clothing, pictures, paintings, videos and films, music), as well as, lectures on circumcision, a festival focusing on music and storytelling relating to circumcision, and the possibility to celebrate circumcision on location, as a cultural event and source of income for the museum.
The objective of the museum will be to shed light on a specific culture, i.e., the Jewish Moroccan culture, through a series of festivals highlighting the way life cycle and holiday events were celebrated in a multi-dimensional context as illustrated above.
Museum income producing activities will be used to maintain programs as well as reduce dependence on donors and ensure long term existence.
The museum will produce a data base of experts interested in Moroccan Jewish culture, who will offer lectures and educational programs on location, in schools and elsewhere, as well as, host conferences from time to time.
The museum will produce a data base of bibliography lists, abstracts and selected publication with special focus on Moroccan Jewish culture, to facilitate relevant research.
The museum will act a publisher and distributor of publications (journals and books) with special focus on Moroccan Jewish culture, in a digital formats (website and CDs) and printed copies, as the Jewish Publications Society does in America.
All museum activities shall be base on high professional standards, relying on experts and specialized juries, excluding political or immaterial considerations.
Cultural tourism in neighboring villages
In addition to activities initiated by the museum, an effort will be made to encourage settlers in neighboring villages to offers accommodation and food services in a culture specific style, i.e., that of Moroccan Jewry.
The museum will host workshops to guide settlers through the process of setting up such culture specific operations, as well as, assist in the establishment of central reservation systems, websites, marketing, etc
The economic aspect
Most museum exhibits and selected educational activities will be priced at cost to allow access to the widest audience possible. In addition, special groups from remote or disadvantaged areas will be targeted and subsidized for educational and cultural enrichment purposes.
The museum will aim to produce revenues to finance its non-profit activities by organizing or co-producing festivals, seminars and workshops, as well as renting spaces, sales of arts and crafts, books and food.
The museum aims to contribute to regional economic development by providing economic opportunities to settlers in small village based on cultural tourism. It is reasonable to suggest that such an initiative would have economic benefit to the region as a whole. One would also expect the Jewish Agency to lend a hand to this initiative, along with the New Israeli Fund, the ministries of education, agriculture and tourism.
Volunteers and donors are making our dream come true.

This place is changing me...
I'm learning a lot about Israel and Jerusalem by being here, seeing the sights, observing what's going on, and just letting the spirituality of this place sink in. It's pretty unreal. I'm not exactly sure what I'm feeling, but I know it's deepening my faith in God's story and is growing my hope in His return to this place one day.
