30. “The Plate” November 20, 2011, BATS Improv, Bayfront Theatre, San Francisco
The 30th of the “40 most memorable improv shows in my 40 years as an improviser” features one of my absolute favorite improvised stories, which I narrated in a Superscene show at BATS Improv. This video is a condensed version of that story about a young woman named Marsha (played with real heart by the amazing Lisa Rowland) who falls in love with a salad plate. Zoe Galvez plays the co-worker who is with Marsha at the restaurant where she first encounters the plate and Regina Saisi, in the final scene, portrays Marsha’s housecleaner…

The headlining act, Shades of Grey, is made up of national improv teachers and performers Jill Eickmann and Marcus Sams. Sams has performed in over a dozen improv festivals and Jill runs her own training center as well as produces for the San Francisco Improv Festival and Femproviser Fest.
Joining them on stage will be Off One Letter and Flaky Jake at the intimate Ninth Street Independent Film Center at 8:00 PM.
