Basic Instincts Hunting and Fishing Father & son Pig Hunt : Graham & Malachi.wmv
Graham wanted to get his son a special birthday present and after looking at the he contacted the team at Basic Instincts and we got the ball rolling. We took the boys and their mate Matt up to the Basic Instincts Mamaku, Rotorua training camp and after a safety briefing and a talk about hunting techniques we got down to business! Malachi showed the adults how its done with a direct bullseye hit on the static target shoot and during the live target deer stalking training did extremely well with a shot right on target at 130 metres! Now for the pig hunt! The boys went for a walk and the signs were looking good, they walked up over a hill and suddenly there was a 100 pound boar right in front of them! After a quick sprint into the bush our dog nabbed the boar and Garry - Head of Basic Instincts and Malachi went in and did the job. It was great to see the bond between father and son grow stronger through sharing a fantastic and unique experience - This hunt will be a memory shared between them forever. Mauri ora Ngahere toa!!!
Mamaku Leslie Road illegally blocked
Checked out Leslie road today at the Mamaku end, the amount of illegally dumped rubbish up there is disgusting.
The access gate at the end of Cecil Road is welded shut, 100m in a tree is blocking the road with some small rocks. Another 200m in another couple of trees have intentionally been placed across the road and trench has been dug behind the trees, about a meter deep.....the road is impassable
Keep in mind Leslie Road is a public road and this willful damage is surely illegal.
