1. Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland Rotorua
Waiotapu, also spelt Wai-O-Tapu is an active geothermal area at the southern end of the Okataina Volcanic Centre, just north of the Reporoa caldera, in New Zealand's Taupo Volcanic Zone. It is 27 kilometres south of Rotorua. Due to dramatic geothermal conditions beneath the earth, the area has many hot springs noted for their colourful appearance, in addition to the Lady Knox Geyser, Champagne Pool, Artist's Palette, Primrose Terrace and boiling mud pools. These can mostly be viewed through access by foot, and in addition to a paid and curated experience, naturally forming hot springs appear around the area. Mount Tarawera is the volcano responsible for one of New Zealand's largest historic eruptions. Located 24 kilometres southeast of Rotorua in the North Island, it consists of a series of rhyolitic lava domes that were fissured down the middle by an explosive basaltic eruption in 1886, which killed an estimated 120 people. These fissures run for about 17 kilometres northeast-southwest. The volcano's component domes include Ruawahia Dome , Tarawera Dome and Wahanga Dome. It is surrounded by several lakes, most of which were created or drastically altered by the 1886 eruption. These lakes include Lakes Tarawera, Rotomahana, Rerewhakaaitu, Okataina, Okareka, Tikitapu and Rotokakahi . The Tarawera River runs northeastwards across the northern flank of the mountain from Lake Tarawera.

Top Places to Visit in Rotorua, New Zealand

Check out my top four places to visit in Rotorua,New Zealand if you only have a day to spend for your trip. This was my first time vlogging experience here in New Zealand.

(VLOG 05) First, visit the Skyline in Rotorua, enjoy the gondola and ride the Luge when you reach the top area.

Second, make a side trip to Lake Rotorua and enjoy the view. It was a really bad weather when we went there but I'm sure you will enjoy the lake view whether sunny or rainy day.

Third, visit the Redwoods and enjoy walking on the hanging bridge. You can enjoy your photo shoot with tall trees in the background.

Fourth, enjoy the last few hours at Waikite Valley Thermal Pools 'n Spa, relax your mind and body as you soak in their hot pools from natural hot spring. This is the best place to end your Rotorua trip.

ONE DAY IN ROTORUA, NEW ZEALAND: THE REDWOODS AND TE PUIA /// THESTYLEJUNGLE VLOG #15

Rotorua is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the North Island of New Zealand. It's one of our favourite places for short trips as well. Every time somebody visits us, we suggest going to Rotorua and explore some of the activities there.

This time we decided to revisit The Redwoods (Whakarewarewa Forest) and do famous tree walk there. This short walkway is very special because it is located between giant redwood trees above the ground! Exploring this forest by walking these shaking bridges is a unique experience!

Our next stop was at Te Puia Geothermal Valley and Maori Village. It is a one-stop-shop for tourists looking for ultimate Rotorua experience. You can find two main points of interests in this region (Maori Culture and Volcanic Valleys) at one place. Amazing Maori concert and views of the Pohutu geyser make Te Puia a must visit place both for local people and tourist from all over the world.
