Bruce Mason Centre Meet in Newzeland
2015 Christmas Day Stephen Lovatt's Bruce Mason extract at Takapuna Beach
NZ playwright Roger Hall (initiator and organiser of this event) informs the audience that 2015 is the 10th anniversary of Stephen Lovatt performing an extract from Bruce Mason's play The end of the golden weather, and his last. On this occasion Bruce Mason's grandson was present, together with a contingent of Mason family descendants who live on Waiheke. The performance was filmed to create a permanent record. (YAY!) This video clip sets the scene - showing the first 8 or so minutes. It ends abruptly mid-sentence, as my camera's battery runs out!

NZ Body Art Showcase Boosted
The NZ Body Art Showcase needs your help and support with venue costs and looking after the artist, models, performers, volunteers and crew.
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR BOOSTED CAMPAIGN!!!
Body painting festivals happen annually around the world, bringing together professional face & body painters, makeup artists, special effects artists and performers, as well as keen amateurs and creatives.
The NZ Body Art Showcase was introduced to Auckland's North Shore in 2006 by creator Mem Bourke, and over the years it has provided a platform for hundreds of artists from around New Zealand & the world to have their work seen. The NZ Body Art Showcase has opened the door on this unique temporary art form and put it in front of people who may not have otherwise found it, and with your help we want to make the 2017 NZ Body Art Showcase the best yet by getting the wider community involved.
The NZ Body Art Showcase was created to celebrate and encourage body painting and special effects in New Zealand, by providing a platform for those who wish to pursue a career in the makeup and special effects fields, promoting high-level creativity, performance and entertainment.
Now in it's 9th year, the NZ Body Art Showcase is being held on Saturday 26th August 2017 at The Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna, Auckland. That date is is quickly catching up to us and after a three year hiatus we essentially have to start at the beginning; that means we have lot of funds to raise before the doors can open.
This year our theme is 'Once Upon A Time' and we are looking for supporters like you to help bring our show to life and give over 50 body painters & special effects artists the chance to showcase their artworks and creations.
Artists spend approximately 6 – 7 hours painting models and applying prosthetics before the evening show, where their creations are brought to life with lighting, music and the movement of the model. Some models are actors and professional dancers, others have never modeled before and decided to give it ago. Since first introducing the NZ Body Art Showcase in 2006, we've introduced hundreds of people to this unique art form and it has become an annual event.
Your support will help the NZ Body Art Showcase with our venue cost and hopefully more, such as looking after the amazing artists, models, performers, volunteers and crew that make the NZ Body Art Showcase possible. One the day we have over 200 people that need looking after with food, snacks and beverages. It's a long day of painting & performing, so it's really important that we make sure everybody is well looked after.
Thank you so much for your support and helping us continue to put on this great event for so many artists.
Please share our Boosted campaign with your friends and networks – our event relies on the generous support of the community and people like you.
