The Christian Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City - walking tour with Steve Martin - video
Note: I say I am a pastor in this video. I do have two ordination certificates when ordained back in 2002 and again in 2011. I have also had people tell me I was as a pastor to the staff when serving with three ministries for 24 years, 1987-2010, before starting Love For His People, Inc. ministry in 2010.

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.
Christians of the Holy Land
The exodus from the Holy Land of Palestinian Christians could eventually leave holy cities like Jerusalem and Bethlehem without a local Christian population. Bob Simon reports.
Contending for Christ against angry Jews in Old City Jerusalem at Jaffa Gate
Contending for the faith with angry Jews at Jaffa gate in Jerusalem. Earlier in the day we spent quite some time preaching and speaking with several people about the hope of Christ outside Jaffa gate in Jerusalem. God spoke to several people and it was a blessed time.

⁴ᴷ Walking in Jerusalem | Christian Quarter
Walking in a section of the Christian Quarter in #Jerusalem.
The #Christian_Quarter (Arabic: حارة النصارى, Ḥārat al-Naṣārā; Hebrew: הרובע הנוצרי, Ha-Rova ha-Notsri) is one of the four quarters of the walled Old City of Jerusalem, the other three being the Jewish Quarter, the Muslim Quarter and the Armenian Quarter. The Christian Quarter is situated in the northwestern corner of the Old City, extending from the New Gate in the north, along the western wall of the Old City as far as the Jaffa Gate, along the Jaffa Gate - Western Wall route in the south, bordering on the Jewish and Armenian Quarters, as far as the Damascus Gate in the east, where it borders on the Muslim Quarter. The Christian quarter contains about 40 Christian holy places. Among them is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, one of Christianity's holiest places. Most of its residents are Palestinian Christians, despite their dwindling numbers.
Next video inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre (Latin: Ecclesia Sancti Sepulchri); also called the Church of the Resurrection or Church of the Anastasis by Eastern Christians (Arabic: كَنِيسَةُ ٱلْقِيَامَة Kanīsatu al-Qiyāmah; Greek: Ναὸς τῆς Ἀναστάσεως Naos tes Anastaseos; Armenian: Սուրբ Հարության տաճար Surb Harut'yan tač̣ar); is a church in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. The church contains, according to traditions dating back to at least the fourth century, the two holiest sites in Christianity: the site where Jesus was crucified, at a place known as Calvary or Golgotha, and Jesus's empty tomb, where he is said to have been buried and resurrected. The tomb is enclosed by a 19th-century shrine called the Aedicula. The Status Quo, an understanding between religious communities dating to 1757, applies to the site.
The Jewish Quarter | Jerusalem, Israel 2018
Come travel with me to Jerusalem, Israel. This 2nd part video from the Holy Land showcases the beauty and breathtaking sites we witnessed as well as the emotional side to it. My intention in recording the Holy Land was for my Grandmother to see after coming back from Germany. Unfortunately, my Grandmother passed away on our way back home and never got the opportunity to see and hear of our adventures. With so much thought, I am slowly working my way into editing these clips for others to enjoy.
Please feel free to leave any questions or comments below as my sister & I plan on making a video answering any questions people may have regarding our trip or planning a trip to Israel.
Stay Tuned....

Jerusalem: Three religions, three families | Faith Matters
The Old City of Jerusalem covers less than one square kilometer and is home to Jews, Christians and Muslims. The political tensions dividing Israel and the Palestinians are felt acutely here. How do the Old City's residents deal with this stress? We put that question to three families and to three clerics representing the three 'world religions'.

Jerusalem, Israel: Jewish Quarter and New City
More info about travel to Jerusalem: In Jerusalem’s New City, we appreciate this culture’s fascinating mix of east and west, secular and sacred, modern and traditional. While it’s not convenient or economical to live in the medieval tangle of the Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem, Israel, devout Jews find great joy in living and raising their families so close to the Western Wall.

JERUSALEM CHURCHES UNITED TO PROTECT CITY'S CHRISTIAN QUARTER
JERUSALEM CHURCHES UNITED TO PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF THE CITY'S CHRISTIAN QUARTER AND TO MAINTAIN THE PILGRIM ROUTE OPEN FOR ALL
Today His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III was joined by Jerusalem’s Patriarchs and Heads of Churches for a vigil and a prayer that was held at the old city’s Jaffa Gate to raise awareness about the dangers of having radical groups compromising the integrity and character of Jerusalem’s Christian Quarter and threatening the access for pilgrims to the Holy shrines and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
It was stressed that they cannot remain silent while access to the Holy Sites is threatened and the hope of a lasting peace is diminished.
The Christian Leaders of Jerusalem further announced that they will be organising an “International Day of Prayer for the Christian Community and Christian Quarter of Jerusalem”. They asked Christians from around the world to join them and to attend the event in Jerusalem in September 2019.
The following were the remarks delivered at the Vigil by H.H.B. Theophilos III:
“We stand here, at the Jaffa Gate, the heart of the Christian Quarter. We stand to pray for our beloved city. We stand as disciples, faithful to Christ in the place of his passion. We stand alongside the millions of pilgrims from every tribe and tongue who visit and bless this Holy City. We stand together with the tenants of our properties who have long provided an open door to visitors and worshipers from far and near.
And from the bottom of our heart we thank our fellow Church leaders in Jerusalem for joining us and standing with us in solidarity; we all and together share our common beliefs, our common humanity and our common destiny; specific to these matters and general for our communities.
As a community of reconciliation, we refuse to allow radical groups to dilute the integrity and character of Jerusalem’s Christian Quarter. We cannot remain silent while access to our Holy Sites is threatened and the hope of a lasting peace is diminished. We will not remain silent.
As a community of justice, we demand that the rule of law is upheld and stand united against any attempt to take Church properties by unlawful measures or to forcefully evict innocent tenants. We warn against any such attempt and we shall not fear to use all legitimate means to oppose and block this from occurring. We remain impassioned guardians of the Status Quo and will ensure that people of all faiths can flourish and thrive within the walls of this city.
We pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Today, we call upon Christians everywhere to join us in prayer and invite brothers and sisters to gather in September 2019 for an International Day of Prayer for the Christian Community and Quarter in Jerusalem. We look forward to welcoming Christian leaders and worshipers from around the world as we continue our fight to preserve and protect the Christian community here in the Holy Land.
With King David, the greatest ruler. we pray for the divine peace and security within these walls. (Psalm 122:6-7)”

The Evening Call to Prayer in Old City Jerusalem
***ANY POLITICALLY CHARGED, RACIST, OR DEMEANING COMMENTS WILL BE DELETED. ENJOY THE VIDEO/LOVE JERUSALEM***
This is the evening call to prayer in Old City Jerusalem. The first 30 seconds or so are silence just before the call begins. The repeated words Allahu akbar mean, Allah is the greatest. There are several mosques in the picture, but the most obvious one is just south, almost right in front of me when I pan to the right. By my count, there are at least 6 visible throughout the video. You can tell the mosques by their minarets that are lit up green at night. I am told the Muslims use green because it was the Prophet Muhammad's favorite color according to the Hadith (although I have heard many reasons suggested). I apologize for my occasional sniffles; it was cold.
I took this video from the top of the Austrian Hospice. You can enjoy this beautiful view any time of the day; just go to the door and ring the bell. They will let you in.
ALSO VISIBLE IN THIS VIDEO:
(1) The Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Christian Quarter. This is the traditional and most likely location of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Its two blue domes topped with crosses are visible when I pan to the right (at 0:22).
(2) The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in the Christian Quarter. This is the tall steeple with windows just to the left of the Holy Sepulchre (at 0:24). You can climb it and get a killer view of the Old City for just a few shekels.
(3) The Hurva Synagogue in the Jewish Quarter. Its white dome is lit up to the left of the Holy Sepulchre (at 0:28).
(4) The al-Aqsa Mosque. This is the black domed mosque on the southern end of the temple mount. This is the functional mosque on the old Temple Mount complex, called haram esh sharif (the Noble Sanctuary) by Muslims (at 0:33).
(5) The Dome of the Rock. This is the golden dome visible when I pan to the left, probably the most well-recognized of any holy site in Jerusalem. This is not a mosque but a memorial. It commemorates the place where Muhammad is said to have been taken into heaven and received the five pillars of Islam. Today it is the third most holy site in Islam (at 0:35).
(6) The Mount of Olives. This is the hill visible behind the Dome of the Rock (at 0:40).
