The Crystal Kingdom Coonabarabran 5 Star Review by PHV2504

New Review
We spent at least 2 hours here, happily exploring both the little museum section and the crystal shop.
The lovely elderly couple at the desk made us feel very welcome & took the time to chat, explaining about the different properties of crystals, rocks and how the interact with our bodies.
The ‘local’ display section was fascinating- showing how the region used to be dominated by volcanoes & how that created the mountain formations today. There are some remarkable crystals & fossils on display. Really worth a visit!

The Crystal Kingdom Coonabarabran 5 Star Review by cherrybrookchick

Excellent Rating
I have visited this place many times over the years and love taking visitors each time I visit Coonabarabran. This time it was my 5 year old son. Crystal Kingdom has an amazing array of leaf and fish fossils. The adjoining gift shop is not filled with cheap Chinese imports, but rather with small and large mineral rocks and jewelry, and the owners have a vast geological knowledge which they are willing to share with anyone who has time to listen. Well worth the visit. Entry is free!

Siding Springs Australian Observatory and Coonabarabran Bushfires
The Siding Springs Australian Telescope and Observatory is threatened by major bushfires in Coonabarabran. Much damage is caused to the lodge and many of the outer buildings, even possibly the visitors centre.
Coonabarabran Festival of the Stars
Over one and a half years after a devastating bushfire tore through Coonabarabran, the town is slowly recovering through astronomy.

NSW State Election Candidates for Barwon 2019
This NSW State Election is critical to the protection against coal seam gas. All the candidates (except the Nats) are against it, and have spoken publicly about stopping this. Please choose very wisely on March 23rd, number every box and Put The Nats Last. We have never been this close to victory.
We are at the T intersection , and your vote could be the difference between North West NSW living inside an industrialised gasfield of 850 gaswells, with 12 other licences started next after this Stage 1, or regional NSW living with clean water, clean air and clean land.

ps - I had to ask so many times to get an answer out of Andrew Schier. He wanted to blame everyone else, but the Nats have had 2 terms in power to do something. Finally got his answer.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.
