MOUNT HOOD NATIONAL FOREST USA
Mount Hood and the Columbia Gorge symbolize the natural beauty of Oregon, yet much of these amazing landscapes remain unprotected. The mountain's high-elevation snowfields have received Wilderness designation, but the more biologically diverse lower flanks and surrounding ridges remain unprotected. Through cutting-edge technology and the efforts of more than 500 volunteers, Oregon Wild has identified unprotected natural areas in the Mount Hood National Forest over the past decade and sought federal Wilderness designation to preserve them.
In January 2009, Oregon Senators Ron Wyden (D) and Jeff Merkley (D) introduced legislation that would give Wilderness protection to 127,000 acres and designate 80 miles of rivers around Mount Hood and in the Columbia Gorge as Wild and Scenic Rivers.
The compromise plan includes the scenic canyons along White River, the biologically diverse forests of Fifteenmile Creek, the old-growth forest surrounding Roaring River and the beautiful whitewater of the East Fork of the Hood River.
The Lewis and Clark Mount Hood Wilderness is an important step toward preserving the scenic beauty, biodiversity, clean drinking water and unparalleled recreational opportunities for future generations of Oregonians.

2010 National Park Silver Quarters-Hot Springs-Yellowstone-Yosemite-Grand Canyon-Mount Hood
Hot Springs National Park is a United States National Park in central Arkansas adjacent to the city of Hot Springs. Hot Springs Reservation was initially created by an act of the United States Congress on April 20, 1832, and the area was made a national park on March 4, 1921. It is the smallest national park by area in the United States. Since Hot Springs National Park is the oldest federal reserve, it was the first to receive its own US quarter in April 2010 as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters series.
Yellowstone is a national park located primarily in the U.S. state of Wyoming, although it also extends into Montana and Idaho. It was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. Yellowstone, widely held to be the first national park in the world, is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful Geyser, one of the most popular features in the park. It has many types of ecosystems, but the subalpine forest is most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion.
Yosemite National Park is a United States National Park spanning eastern portions of Tuolumne, Mariposa and Madera counties in the central eastern portion of the U.S. state of California, commonly referred to as Northern California. The park, which is managed by the National Park Service, covers an area of 747,956 acres (1,168.681 sq mi; 302,687 ha; 3,026.87 km2) and reaches across the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain chain. Over 3.7 million people visit Yosemite each year: most spend the majority of their time in the seven square miles (18 km2) of Yosemite Valley. Designated a World Heritage Site in 1984, Yosemite is internationally recognized for its spectacular granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, giant sequoia groves, and biological diversity. Almost 95% of the park is designated wilderness. Yosemite was central to the development of the national park idea. First, Galen Clark and others lobbied to protect Yosemite Valley from development, ultimately leading to President Abraham Lincoln's signing the Yosemite Grant in 1864. Later, John Muir led a successful movement to establish a larger national park encompassing not just the valley, but surrounding mountains and forests as well—paving the way for the United States national park system.
Grand Canyon National Park is the United States' 15th oldest national park. Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, the park is located in Arizona. The park covers 1,217,262 acres (1,901.972 sq mi; 492,608 ha; 4,926.08 km2) of unincorporated area in Coconino and Mohave counties.

The Forest includes and is named after Mount Hood, a stratovolcano. The Forest encompasses some 1,067,043 acres (4,318.17 km2) Forest headquarters are located in Sandy, Oregon. A 1993 Forest Service study estimated that the extent of old growth in the Forest was 345,300 acres (139,700 ha). The Forest is divided into four separate districts - Barlow (with offices in Dufur), Clackamas River (Estacada), Hood River (Mount Hood-Parkdale), and Zigzag (Zigzag).

Finding Good Crappie Fishing Spots
Jason made a point in the fall and winter to look for new crappie fishing spots with his electronics. He started in some productive arms of the lake and idled along break lines looking for brush piles with fish.
These creek channel edges are often where fishermen like to drop their brush piles. So Jason scanned with Lowrance HDS 3D Structure Scan for likely looking spots and brush piles until he found schools of crappie holding on them.
Once he saw a good school of fish on a brush pile, he stopped and fished it. He would cast a jig over the top, when they quit biting that, he would pitch to the piles from a closer distance, and finally he would get right on top of them and fish vertically on the pile.
He had one of the best fall/winter periods for crappie fishing in recent years by getting out and hunting for fish more with his electronics.

Top 10 Cheapest Cities to Retire in The US
Top 10 Cheapest Cities to Retire in The US
.
Ever since I did the worst places to retire I have been asked over and over to do the best places to retire in the United States. Some people consider the nicest place as the best places that’s normally because they have a good amount of money saved up, the rest of us consider the least expensive place as the best. So, we’ll do 2 videos. The first one will be the cheapest city to retire. It will be the cheapest yet decent place to live. I’m not telling anyone to move to Skid Row in LA or Hunts Point in NY. They would be extremely cheap but incredibly dangerous. That would be wrong and I would be filled with guilt thinking someone took my advice or information and moved to some of the nastiest places in the US. Relatively safe and budget-friendly is what we are looking for. Some cities will give you free college courses and breaks on the purchase of a home. So no student loans and a high mortgage at 65.
Thanks for checking out the channel. I hope you enjoyed today's video. If there is a state, city or town you'd like us to do a video about let us know in the comment section.

General Grant National Memorial, or Grant's Tomb
The General Grant National Memorial in new York City is situated in Riverside Park overlooking the Hudson River. Also popularly known as Grant's Tomb, this mausoleum contains the bodies of Ulysses S. Grant, an American Civil War General and the 18th President of the United States, and his wife Julia D. Grant.
Shortly after Grant's death on July 23rd 1885, a committee that would come to be known as the Grant Memorial Association raised $600,000 to construct a memorial tomb. Over 8,000 tons of granite was used to construct the design drawn up by New York architect John Duncan. The design, modeled after one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, would be completed and dedicated on April 2th, 1897, the 75th anniversary of Grant's birth.
Julia Grant died on December 14th, 1902, and she was laid to rest beside her husband in a twin sarcophagus.
In the 1930's three murals, and five bronze busts of Grant's greatest generals were added to the tomb. In 1958, short on funds, the Grant Memorial Association turned the tomb over to the National Park Service. Despite several years of neglect, recent restoration projects have made the General Grant Memorial an interesting and reverent place to visit.

Migrations
The longest wildlife migration in the lower 48 states is right here in Wyoming’s backyard. Pronghorn travel from Grand Teton National Park through the Gros Ventre Mountains and all the way down to the I-80 corridor, but their journey today faces an array of human obstacles. From the oil field worker to the wealthy second-homer, people and wildlife have once again found themselves at a crossroads.
