Sedona A Jewel In The Desert (Short film/Documentary)
Welcome! We at Irvines Images are proud to release the short film Sedona A Jewel In The Desert. This movie was filmed entirely here in beautiful Sedona, Arizona and it was a long time in the making and was featured and shown at the Sedona International Film Festival. It also almost won an award there as well, it came within half a point in it's category of the audiences choice. And.. We plan on turning this into a full feature length movie in the future and covering all of the seasons in Sedona, and we plan on going into some of the other subjects that often define the area as well, like the community, UFO's, history and stuff like that.
Please show some support if you liked our effort by liking/commenting/sharing/subscribing and that kind of stuff! Thanks! And I hope you enjoy the movie!

The Mary Pickford Theater!
I was afraid to leave Hazel at the motel so I could see a movie here. As when I am gone too long here in the apartment she sit in my bed and howls like a coyote! LOL I was wondering though if the inside was decorated really retro and nice?
JIM & CAROL EGAN National Day In The Desert 2019-Outstanding Philanthropists
It was in the early 60’s that James and Carol Egan discovered the Coachella Valley while on their first vacation as a married couple. And in 2005, the couple moved to the Coachella Valley--just as she had dreamed of 40 years earlier!
The Coachella Valley has been blessed by the heart and generous commitment of James and Carol Egan from the minute they became residents in Rancho Mirage.
Seeking adventure and a new life together in 1963, Jim and Carol left Pennsylvania, headed for California with no money and no job. They of course, quickly found employment—Carol with Pacific Bell Telephone, and Jim with the petroleum equipment division of FMC Corporation in Brea CA. Jim recalls his starting wage was $2.52 per hour.
Jim advanced quickly in his 17-year career in sales, marketing and management assignments at FMC Corporation in California and London. Thereafter, he served in various management positions with the Mueller Company and Tyco International and was named Vice-Chairman of the U.S.-China Trade Council. When Jim retired as President of Tyco’s Latin American Division in 2005, the Coachella Valley welcomed this outstanding couple with open arms.
The Egans have enjoyed living in Rancho Mirage and spending quality time with their three children and nine grandchildren in Texas and Ohio.
They share their passion for the arts and for supporting organizations that transform the lives of young people and others in the local community through their hands on involvement and generosity. Jim was elected to the Palm Springs Art Museum Board of Directors in 2013 and currently serves as Chair of the Audit Committee. Over the years, he and Carol have become major patrons of the Museum, its education department, school tour programs, the Western Art Council and the Annenberg Theater Council.
As strong believers in CVRep’s mission to present thought-provoking, innovative theater of substance and outreach programs for residents and visitors. Jim and Carol pledged the first substantial six-figure gift to the “Be Part of Our Dream” Campaign to acquire the former IMAX theater in Cathedral City and transform it into CVRep’s stunning new 208-seat, state-of-the-art theater and conservatory.
The American Outreach Foundation, which supplies mechanized wheelchairs to disabled veterans and others, is another beneficiary of the Egans’ generous philanthropy and volunteer service as members of the board of directors.
Jim brings his substantial business experience and financial resources to the Palm Springs Unified School District Foundation Task Force, which is focused on expanding education on computer programming and technology for middle school and high school students.
There is nothing complicated about this endearing couple’s approach to philanthropy. In their words, “When you give, you get much more in return.”
They consider it a privilege and joy to contribute their time, talents and financial support to causes and people that enrich the lives of others.
U.S. Route 89, Utah, United States, North America
U.S. Route 89 (US 89) is a north–south United States Highway with two sections, and one former section. The southern section runs for 848 miles (1,365 kilometers) from Flagstaff, Arizona, to the southern entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The northern section runs for 404 miles (650 kilometers) from the northern entrance of Yellowstone National Park to Montana, ending at the Canadian border. An implied route through Yellowstone connects the two sections. Before 1992, U.S. Highway 89 was a Canada to Mexico, border-to-border, highway that ended at Nogales, Arizona, on its southern end. Sometimes called the National Park Highway, U.S. 89 links seven national parks across the Mountain West. In addition, fourteen other national park areas, mostly national monuments are also reachable from this backbone of the Rockies. The first city in Utah along either U.S. 89 or U.S. 89A is Kanab where the two routes re-unite. From Kanab U.S. 89 proceeds north passing by the Zion National Park and the Bryce Canyon National Park. It eventually enters the Sevier County, Utah, and the Sanpete Valleys. The highway then passes by Thistle, Utah, a ghost town that was destroyed by a landslide in 1983. The highway then enters the Wasatch Front where U.S. 89 becomes the main streets of the largest cities in Utah. The highway is also often in the shadows of Interstate 15 during its route along the Wasatch Front. U.S. 89 runs concurrent with I 15 from Bountiful to Farmington, where it departs and runs at the base of the Wasatch Mountains until it reaches Ogden. In Ogden, the highway is Washington Blvd. From Ogden the highway runs north until it meets U.S. 91 at Brigham City, Utah, where it turns east and goes to serve the Cache Valley and Logan, Utah. In Logan, U.S. 89 is Main Street and it passes by the campus of the Utah State University. The highway next proceeds up Logan Canyon to Bear Lake where the highway exits Utah. Two sections of U.S. 89 in Utah have been designated Scenic Byways. The Kanab to Mt. Carmel and Long Valley Scenic Byway is a designated Utah Scenic Byway. From Logan to Bear Lake is designated as the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway by the National Scenic Byways project. The section of U.S. 89 in Utah, other than concurrencies with Interstate 70, Interstate 15, U.S. Highway 6, and U.S. Highway 91, is defined in the Utah Code Annotated § 72-4-114(8). Utah is dominated by the Colorado Plateau. Along U.S. 89 are the Zion National Park, the Bryce Canyon National Park, and the Cedar Breaks National Monument. Although not readily adjacent to U.S. 89, the Capitol Reef National Park is accessible from U.S. 89. U.S. 89 leaves northern Utah well-north of Salt Lake City and the Timpanogos Cave National Monument and the Golden Spike National Historic Site. Prior to 1992, the southern terminus of US 89 was at Nogales, Arizona, and the highway proceeded to Flagstaff, Arizona, along what is now I-19, State Route 79, US 60, US 93, and State Route 89. In addition, there was another US 89A in Arizona between Prescott and Flagstaff on which is now State Route 89A. In central Arizona, the need for a north–south U.S. Highway was largely superseded by the completion of I-17, which now carries the bulk of the traffic and all of the heavy trucks along this north–south corridor. I-17 connects I-40 in Flagstaff with I-10 in Phoenix, Arizona, along a very hilly route that also passes through the Verde Valley. US 89 was discontinuous for most of 1983 due to a landslide that destroyed the town of Thistle, Utah and closed the highway for about 8 months in central Utah.
From early 2013 to mid 2015, US 89 was closed approximately 25 miles south of Page, Arizona, due to a geological event that caused the roadway to buckle and subside. Traffic was being re-routed via 45 miles of secondary and tertiary roads on the Navajo Nation. U.S. Route 89T opened on August 29, 2013, a 28-mile (45 km) paved portion of a Navajo route to serve as a long-term bypass of the closed section.

Canada's forgotten rainforest
Deep in British Columbia’s interior, cedars that were seedlings 1,600 years ago, when Mayan civilization flourished in cities in the tropical jungle, will wind up as fence posts and garden mulch, or burned in huge slash piles.
Less than one-third of the world’s primary forests are still intact. This temperate rainforest, which holds vast stores of carbon and is home to endangered caribou, is being clear-cut as fast as the Amazon.
This is Canada's forgotten rainforest:

A Visit to Slide Rock Park Near Sedona, Arizona
Watch HD clips from Slide Rock Park, named after the famous Slide Rock, a stretch of slippery creek bottom including a natural water chute. Filmed on a balmy Arizona day in April 2013, this video shows the chute as well as deeper pool areas where swimmers can jump off short cliffs into the water. The water temperature the day this was filmed was a chilly 52F, but that didn't stop most vacationers have jumping in and having fun.
