A holiday at Forster/Tuncurry along Australia's Mid North Coast of NSW
Forster Main Beach Consultation June 2018
MidCoast Council is developing a Masterplan to guide future development in the Forster Main Beach precinct, an iconic area much loved by locals and visitors alike.
The Masterplan is being developed for use as a vital tool in attracting funding to upgrade the Forster Main Beach precinct.
The Masterplan is intended to represent a 30 year strategy and will be an important tool to obtain funding, liaise with stakeholders, budget and generally plan for the future of the precinct.
Now we want your feedback on the developed approaches, via an online survey form and a storytelling competition.
In July 2017, over 500 people provided feedback - big and small ideas - for modernising the precinct and providing a more user-friendly recreational and social hub for the Main Beach area. Consultations with Forster SLSC and other special interest groups were also held. Visit the Forster Main Beach project page for more information on the background to this project.
Using this extensive feedback, The Design Partnership worked on concept development and produced a 'framework' which was workshopped by the community last October. From there, Council's internal project team and The Design Partnership have developed the final approaches, which have considered various elements and constraints of the site, including parking and traffic management, planning considerations, environmental factors (including coastal erosion and water sensitive urban design), economic development, open/green space considerations, built form, spatial analysis and community engagement.

Forster Tuncurry Breakwater to Breakwater
This is a very easy flat 6km out-and-return walk around the Forster - Tuncurry harbour area on the Mid-North coast of NSW. We have recently moved to just North of here and thought some people might enjoy.
Flat Rock, Forster, NSW, Australia.
A week of stormy weather encouraged Flat Rock to perform.
A radical take-off point leading to an almost immediate encounter with a shallow reef section results in good action.
The ride can extend all the way to Forster Main Beach.
Most opt out for the shorter Flat Rock section. Winter surfing. Ok today ... but can be extremely exciting on bigger days.

The music is out of character ... but why not have a 'Country Tune' now and again.

Updated Nov. 2019. Summer is coming on. Hi holiday makers it's Neil Anthony. I have had many great holidays in Forster Tuncurry on the mid north coast of NSW Australia. These holidays have been the inspiration for this song and the video. Forster Tuncurry is a jewel. Scenes include One Mile Beach, Bennets Head, the Tuncurry Rockpool, the Tanks, Forster Tuncurry Bridge, Forster Main Beach, Wallis Lake, the Breakwall and lunch at the Bellevue Hotel.At last count there were 25 cafes and restaurants by the lake.
