Conestogo River Millrace Trail Twilight, St Jacobs Canada
Mennonites began settling St. Jacobs in 1819. An 1860's dam on the Conestogo River diverted water into a 2.5 km headrace for Elias Snider's gristmill. It is Ontario's longest headrace. The 1891 willows were planted to shade and strengthen the embankment. The trail follows the crest of the levee beneath the 1891 Grand Trunk Railway bridge. Dawn Treader, performed by guitarist-composer William Ackerman, accompanies the riverscapes, mill silos and floral close-ups, bookended with philosophical quotes about life from the Upanishads, Lewis Carroll and Franz Kafka.
Cycling in St Marys Ontario
St Marys Ontario is such a lovely town situated on the forks of the Thanes River and Trout Creek in Southwestern Ontario. The Grand Trunk Bridge and Loop trails around the town provide a lovely way to see nature and many lovely views in St Marys. With a GoPro, IPhone 6, I captured a few views and tried out Splice app to create this video. #stmaryon

CITY KITTIES... Crowe Foundry HESPELER, ONTARIO
PLEASE SPAY or NEUTER Your Pet... This small colony started with a young black female kitty a few years ago. After being abandoned by her owners, she was being fed by kind office workers at a local foundry. That came to an end when the foundry closed and abandoned in Sept 2009. Again, she was left alone and scared. Desperate and skinny, she began meowing, while chasing an elderly man down the tracks on his morning walks. He too started bringing food for her and four years later is still devoted to feeding her and her offspring. Sadly we have found three little kittens dead, close to the shed they call home. Three healthy looking kittens laying lifeless on the railroad track, victims of foul play!!! Oct 2013... The foundry is know rubble and only the cold shed/warehouse that the kitties remains on the property!
