Higashiyama Walking Course, Takayama, Japan, 高山 - Canon 80D - Virtual Trip
The Higashiyama or Higashiyama Yûhodô Trail is a hike well known to everyone traveling to Takayama. It defines the city to the east and let us discover a dozen temples at the foot of the mountain. Higashiyama Yûhodô crosses Teramachi (the temple district still called Higashiyama) and ends at Shiroyama Park, at the foot of the ruins of the castle. This small, discreet path leads to the back of the houses and leads from temple to temple for a cultural visit of the city.

Higashiyama walking course Kyoto Japan
I spent the whole day doing the Higashiyama walking course in eastern Kyoto. I started from the south at Kiyomizudera Temple, and finished up north in Ginkakuji temple. This video only covers up to Nanzenji temple, I will upload another vid for the Philosopher's path and Ginkakuji Temple to finish up the full Higashiyama course experience. This is a great way to spend time in Kyoto. The path takes you through temples, quaint Japanese neighborhoods, canals, and alleyways where remnants of the past blends together with modern day Japan.
The SBF's version of the Higashiyama walking course in Takayama.
Apparently theres a walking course in and around Takayama that will take you through neighborhoods and parks to a series of Temples and shrines.... I intended to do it propper but woke up to late. So this is the scumbag flanders version intro.
It was very nice and took way longer because I had to stop for photos every 3 or so feet.... Im just saying..

Takayama Sanmachi-suji , Japan, 高山 | Canon 80D | Virtual Trip
Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan has become, over time, a major tourist destination in Japan. Long known to Japanese for its bi-annual festivals, among the three most beautiful in Japan, the city is also famous throughout the country and beyond for its dishes, including Takayama beef or Takayama-gyū. But what most probably attracts tourists from all over the world is the quiet ambience and setting of the city and its historic district, straight out of the Edo period (1600-1868).
Sanmachi-suji are three parallel streets: Ichi-no-machi, Ni-no-machi and San-no-machi, bounded on the west by the Miyagawa River and on the east by the mountain: the configuration of Takayama resembles in every respect that of Higashiyama in Kyoto and reminds us particularly of the famous district of Gion.
These ancient pedestrian walkways, lined with inns, restaurants, sake breweries or private houses, with their lattice windows and dark wood facades, the sakura that line the river, all this beauty transports the visitor to the heart. of old Japan, as we imagine it.

Hida Takayama tour
A day trip walking from Takayama town center to Matsukura-jo hill and Harayama hill. On way back to Hida-no-Sato open air museum village.
Afternoon stroll a ghost and a shower
Maybe two ghosts. This is the reason I chose to visit Takayama. The Higashiyama walking trail. Its a course that takes you through a large set of shrines and graves on the hill sides of Takayama.
I read about it in Fromers Japan. Not quite what I expected but very cool none the less. Actually I didn't finish the whole thing so maybe the large amount of tombs that I was hoping to see were yet to be reached by me.
Plus I think I captured a ghost on my mic. It was a totally calm day and soooooooo very quiet but yet I picked up some wind noise when passing a statue. Hmmm.... Maybe its just wind?
And some bonus smut for you... A shower scene. Yep...
