It started so slowly, so humbly, with “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus. And just like that, we were on the way to a re-centering, a re-plumbling, and resetting ourselves to the Mary-of-Bethany reality, the simple pursuit of Jesus above all else. Instead of an intense, mega-conference feel, the lights were kept on for the first few songs, and the clock was counting up, not down—meaning, the musicians weren’t pressured to finish their songs or speed things up.
Midway in, Mike Bickle called for intercession. The prayers were focused on deliverance from whatever hinders love (especially distraction) and having fresh encounters with God, including dreams and visions.
Instead of a feeling of we’ve arrived, Onething 2018 started with palpable hunger for God. “I want You to send revival/Let it start right here in my heart,” went one chorus. “We need You, God/Come and help us” and “More/We are hungry,” were other that followed.
Corey Russell continued with a stirring word on the gift of tears, walking us through the familiar story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead (John 11), to focus on the differences—again—of Mary and Martha. Both of these two said the same phrase to Jesus, “If You had been here, my brother would not have died,” but one said it from a heart touched by the pain, whereas the other was angry that Jesus had let him die.
“Martha didn’t know what to do because she hadn’t sat long enough to hear His word,” Corey said. “Every time we see Mary, she’s at His feet. It’s not about having the right words or formula, but sitting long enough to . . . where your deep cries out to His deep and pulls something holy out of His heart.”
This storm of tears, when Jesus wept, released the miracle of Lazarus’ resurrection as Mary partnered with Him to feel the pain and cry out for a breakthrough, explained Corey. “I believe God is releasing the gift of tears to the Body of Christ. Who wants it?” he asked.
As the altar filled, Allen Hood joined Corey to confirm that God wants people who will “feel [the pain]. Weep. Groan. Ask for [Jesus], wrestle with [Him], contend with [Him] for the breakthrough. When everything looks gone, will you wrestle with [Him]? Will you not just concede to the time or to your theology? Will you lay hold of [His] heart?”
“Instead of ‘fix it, fix it, fix it,’ God is saying, ‘feel it, feel it, feel it,’” Allen said. “Feel it, and take it to Him, the One who weeps with you. You wanted to avoid death. Jesus wanted to take you through it and bring forth the resurrection.”
The altar stayed full, and ministry continued well after the official 5pm ending time.

“Call them Hephzibah!” the Lord spoke to Mike Bickle in a dream in 1995, referencing Isaiah 62:4. That dream appeared to be fulfilled today during the morning session of Onething Day 2. Mike was joined on stage by Allen Hood, Diane Bickle, Francis Chan, and others to declare that long-ago received word. “You are Hephzibah. [God's] delight is in you,” Mike said. “He enjoys you in your weakness!”

On September 27-29, 2018, coinciding with the Feast of Tabernacles, we will be hosting ‘tent city’ gatherings of worship, music, prayer, and gospel proclamation – simultaneously at all 50 state capitals and on college and university campuses across America! Imagine. Three Days. Millions of people. Day and night. Public, outdoor worship, prayer and the proclamation of the gospel flooding our nation with the presence of Jesus! It will be historic!
This follows last years launching of Awaken the Dawn at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 6-9, 2017. Calling America to an unprecedented worship movement on the National Mall. 50-tetns, one from each state, on the National Mall. January 2014 | 24-7 Prayer USA Leadership Gathering | Main Session
This past fall Dave and Tara Powers (and the WWM team) were commissioned by the 24-7 Prayer International Leadership Team to take up a leadership role in adopting the 24-7 Prayer USA Network as a primary field of their worship and prayer ministry. We're extremely grateful and honored to come under the care of the apostolic oversight team of 24-7 Prayer USA, and very excited to catalyze non-stop worship and prayer in our nation.
So on January 17, 2014 Worship and the Word hosted a 24-7 Prayer USA Leadership Gathering. 24-7 Prayer USA [24-7prayer.us] is a part of the greater 24-7 Prayer International Organization [24-7prayer.com] and compiled of two networks: The 24-7 Prayer Network lead by Dave & Tara Powers from Denver, CO and The Boiler Room Network lead by Joe Steinke from Kansas City, Missouri.
This is a video of our Main Session of the Leadership Gathering. In this session, Joe Steinke shares details regarding the Boiler Room Network and then Dave Powers shares what God has been showing our team He wants for The 24-7 Prayer Network.
24-7 Prayer USA Network
This is a network of friends who affiliate and partner for mutual encouragement and sharing resources in stewarding the 24-7 Worship & Prayer movement in the United States in its various expressions. It includes houses of prayer, worship and prayer communities, ecumenical worship and prayer centers, neo-monastic urban communities and other teams that are primarily committed to catalyzing and resourcing the Church in worship and prayer. This team is lead by Dave Powers and is based in Denver, Colorado.

Kansas City Week in Review - Feb 14, 2014
This week:
Ex-Grandview Mayor Pleads Guilty to Wire Fraud
He resigned a month ago this week. Now we know why. The former Mayor of Grandview appears in court this week and pleads guilty to wire fraud. Steve Dennis had solicited $35,000 in donations from the International House of Prayer to a nonprofit he had created. Instead of the money going to the poor and disadvantaged, he allegedly pocketed the cash.
The New York Times questions Senator Pat Roberts' residency
How important is it to you that your elected leaders live in the areas they serve? Kansas Senator Pat Roberts' re-election campaign is on the defensive this week after a new report questions the three-term senator's ties to his home state.
The New York Times says Roberts does not have a home of his own in Kansas, but is registered to vote at a donor's house in Dodge City. In fact, he pays them $300 a month to stay there. Roberts quipped that he has full access to the recliner, though he could not tell the Times how many times he had stayed there.
Missouri's execution drug blocked, again...
Missouri is on its third lethal injection drug in less than six months. But this week, a federal judge is blocking an out-of-state pharmacy from providing the latest execution drug used to kill Missouri's death row inmates.
The move comes just two weeks before the state's next execution: Michael Taylor was found guilty in 1989 for the murder of 15-year-old Ann Harrison, who was waiting for a school bus in front of her Kansas City home when she was kidnapped, sexually assaulted and stabbed to death.
Issues central to the gay community top the headlines on both sides of the state line...
It wasn't just a University of Missouri football player by the name of Michael Sam who was dominating the news.
In this same week as Sam's announcement, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon says he wants a re-vote on gay marriage in the Show-Me State. He says he supports repealing Missouri's constitutional amendment and would vote in favor of same sex unions.
The Governor is facing an impeachment effort from a group of state lawmakers unhappy over his order allowing same-sex marriage tax returns. Also this week, the ACLU sues Missouri for not recognizing gay marriages.
In Kansas, a bill allowing service refusal to gay couples passes the Kansas House. Supporters describe it as a religious freedom measure following cases such as the one in Colorado where a baker who refused to make a cake for a gay couple was given an ultimatum by a judge: serve gay weddings or face fines.
Despite swift passage in the Kansas House, the measure has stumbled in the Kansas Senate.
KC'S Jane Chu to lead National Endowment for the Arts?
President Obama has nominated Jane Chu, the head of Kansas City's Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, to lead the National Endowment for the Arts, filling a post that has been vacant for over a year.
Arts groups welcomed Chu's nomination for the agency, which has been a favorite target of conservative groups for its sometimes controversial grants. The Senate must confirm Chu for the position.
Local marijuana debate
States around the country are warming to the idea of legalizing pot. A recent Gallup Poll for the first time shows that a clear majority of Americans (58%) say the drug should be legalized. But Jackson County legislator Bob Spence wants to ensure that never happens here.
Fearing that Missouri might join the growing number of states that have legalized marijuana for medical and recreational purposes, he says it's time for the state to take a stand against that trend. The Lee's Summit Republican is trying to pass a resolution that would put Jackson county on record as opposing any effort to decriminalize pot in the Show-Me State.
Meanwhile in Kansas, this Valentine's Day there's a rally at the statehouse in support of a Kansas Senate bill known as the Cannabis Compassion and Care Act. The measure introduced by Wyandotte County Senator David Haley would permit the use of marijuana by patients with qualifying medical conditions. This seems like an incremental change to current Kansas law, but even that measure has been bottled up with Senate leaders refusing to give it a hearing.
