The Jerusalem Botanical Gardens (JBG), originally planned as successor to the National Botanic Garden of Israel on Mount Scopus which, nevertheless, still exists as a separate entity, is located in the neighborhood of Nayot in Jerusalem, on the southeastern edge of the Givat Ram campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.[1]
בירושלים ישנם שני גנים בוטנים אוניברסיטאיים הסמוכים לשני הקמפוסים העיקריים של האוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. האחד נמצא בחלקו הצפון מזרחי של קמפוס הר הצופים והשני סמוך לשכונת ניות, בחלקו הדרום מזרחי של קמפוס אדמונד ספרא (גבעת רם). שני הגנים שייכים לאוניברסיטה העברית, אולם הגן שבגבעת רם מנוהל על ידי חברה חיצונית.

The best-kept secret in Jerusalem
More than 10,000 species of plants can be found at the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens, a peaceful green oasis in a busy city.
Boasting the largest plant collection in Israel, the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens (botanic.co.il/en) opened to the public in 1985. Director of development Sue Surkes calls it the best kept secret in Jerusalem.
More than 10,000 species of plants from around the world are here, divided into six geographical sections. The tropical conservatory contains rainforest plants, including edibles such as pineapple and rice, and even carnivorous ones.
Among the new features are the African Savannah grass maze and the 500-meter Bible Path. What we discovered was that plants literally littered the Bible, says Surkes. Just one example is the tamarisk, planted by Abraham when he arrived in Beersheva.
Hopping aboard the flower train, as the ride is popularly called, is one of most fun ways to see the entire site, which is located on the Givat Ram campus of the Hebrew University (huji.ac.il/huji/eng).

Scientific Director Dr. Ori Fragman-Sapir and Hub Coordinator and Director Lior Gottesman planted themselves with Eve for an in depth talk about a 30 acre bouquet in the middle of Jerusalem; the Botanical Gardens. Combining medicinal research and sustainable agriculture; environmental economics with educational programs where getting dirty is a requirement - all rooted in a Green lung in the heart of an uber urban environment- the Garden is an ecosystem of its own. They share their work and challenges in what is occasionally rocky terrain. There are various plans for growth to synthesize many diverse issues in order to promote a better space for all inhabitants in a very unique city.
As with anything to do with Jerusalem, there are global outgrowths and connections to nurture. Come visit soon.

גן בלומפילד הוא גן עירוני בירושלים. הגן מהווה חלק משרשרת גנים סביב אזור העיר העתיקה והסמוכים לו ביותר הם גן הפעמון שהוקם אחריו מעברו השני של רחוב דוד המלך וכן בוסתן קטן בשם גן גוזלן הגובל בגן ליד מלון המלך דוד.
ימין משה היא שכונה ותיקה בירושלים בקרבת העיר העתיקה. השכונה הוקמה בשנת 1891 כחלק מהיציאה מן החומות, בצמוד לשכונת משכנות שאננים שהקים משה מונטיפיורי, ונקראת על שמו. השכונה ננטשה במלחמת השחרור, ולאחריה יושבה מחדש על ידי עולים מטורקיה ומכורדיסטן, והייתה קרובה לקו העירוני שחצה את העיר.
מזרקת האריות היא מזרקה ופסל בגן בלומפילד שבירושלים. המזרקה הוענקה לירושלים כשי מגרמניה המערבית. המזרקה תוכננה על ידי האמן הגרמני גרנות ראמפף(אנ'), שלצורך עיצובה ביקר בירושלים, בין השאר באתרים ארכאולוגים ובגן החיות התנכי. היא הוצבה בכוונה במקום המקשר בין האוכלוסייה היהודית והערבית בעיר וכן בין העיר העתיקה והחדשה. המזרקה הוקמה בשנת 1989, בעת הקמתה הייתה המזרקה הראשונה בירושלים[1].
