The Jorvik Viking Centre is a museum and visitor attraction in York, England, containing lifelike mannequins and life-size dioramas depicting Viking life in the city. It was created by the York Archaeological Trust in 1984. Its name is derived from Jórvík, the Old Norse name for the city of York. The attraction contains a 4d experience where you will go round the city of York as it would be in the age of the Vikings. The second part of the attractions consist of a gallery where you can find items that were dug up during an archaeological dig. There is also many actors and staff showing guests how the Viking built some of there crafts.

This is the start of a small series to Ben's Adventures channel Where I visit many attractions in York. This is adventure one and there will be four including Barley Hall, King Richard III Experience and The York Monastery. Although there are many attractions in York we will be doing a return trip to do the rest that we missed out on.

Return of the Vikings to York | JORVIK Viking Centre Reopens
JORVIK Viking Centre reopened to the public on Saturday 8th April after a multi-million re-imagining to the attraction, following the devastating flooding in December 2015.
To herald the return of the Vikings to York the Norse men and women of JORVIK staged a week of events to celebrate the reopening, including the burning of a wicker wolf totem to signify Geri, the wolf from Norse mythology associated with Odin and a weekend of music, crafting and battle re-enactments.
JORVIK is now open daily and ready to welcome you and your family back to 10th-century York. Book Online to beat the queues.

The ride that's takes you though York in the Viking days
The Jorvik Viking Centre York. Primitive tools, museum tour and ride.
Hi guys I hope you are all well and doing good. Well! I have just got back from my camping holiday over on the beautiful east coast of Yorkshire. Whilst on holiday I took the opportunity to visit the Jovik Viking Centre. I thought this would make an interesting video for the channel as bushcraft and vikings are very closely related and a lot of techniques and methods we use in bushcraft originate from the viking culture. There was loads to see and it was an amazing experience to get a glimpse into the real lives of the Vikings. In this video you will see early examples of some of the modern tools we use in bushcraft today, such as knives, axes; fire kits and lots of early cooking paraphernalia too, it was awesome. I apologise in advance for some of the camera lighting. In places it was very dark so some of the footage is a little grainy but not distracting. So grab a seat and a brew and spend the next 20 mins on a tour around the Viking Centre ;)
If you are planning on visiting the Jorvic please refrain from watching as this video will ruin the experience for you.

Jorvik Viking Centre Ride and Tour | Jorvik 2018 | Here Come The Hoopers
As a special Mothers Day treat, we visited York for the day. First stop was the Jorvik Viking Centre. The Jorvik Viking Centre Ride has been updated following the flood they had in December 2015.
Our Jorvik 2018 tour covers most of the attraction, but the audio on the ride doesn't really get picked up in the video.
There is more to see there and it is worth a visit. We bought PastPort tickets that give annual entry and other York-based attractions.
