Snorkeling Sydney Australia
Snorkeling Sydney Australia
Snorkeling is one of our favorite things to do! There's nothing like diving in and swimming with thousands of colorful fish and fascinating sea life. On our recent trip to Australia we had the opportunity to snorkel all around Sydney and beyond. It was fall so the water was a bit chilly, but this did not deter us!
Snorkeling Sydney Australia is so easy with so many beaches so near at hand. Most of the footage in this video comes from the beaches in and around Sydney, but some is also from Jervis Bay, which is about 3 hours South of Sydney.
We were lucky to see a wide array of sea creatures including 4 Octopus, Eastern Blue Gropers, many large flatheads, sea urchins the size of small basketballs, and of course large numbers of tropical fish. Emma also saw a sting ray, and we both saw a few jellyfish. Of course it is impossible to capture how amazing the wildlife was just with a couple goPros, but we did our best. Maybe someday we'll be able to afford a proper underwater camera and get scuba certified!
Anyway, Snorkeling around Sydney and in Australia was an unforgettable experience. We hope to be back soon to explore more of these beautiful and lush waters.

Haunted Abandoned Millionaires Mansion Morella in Mosman Sydney
#morella #abandonedmansion #hauntedhouse
This mansion is called Morella,
AFTER years of sitting idle at the hands of vandals and squatters, Mosman’s abandoned mansion “Morella” has finally found a new owner following an emotional auction last Thursday.
Dramatic scenes followed the sale of the decrepit art deco manor at 5 Morella Rd, as Marianna Parer, the sister of the deceased owner Anthony Parer, who had flown in from Canada to witness the auction of her former family home, broke down after the fall of the hammer.
Despite four parties registering to bid on the home, just Two parties vied for the sale following an opening offer of $6 million, with young Chinese buyer Edward Wei ousting his competitor with a winning $6.6 million bid.
The recently graduated UNSW architecture student has plans to transform the site, which set across a prime 891sq m harbourfront block overlooking Chowder Bay, sources claim.
Any bold ambitions will cost millions of dollars, but might be tempered because the property is heritage-listed on Mosman Council’s Mosman Local Environmental Plan 2012.
The new owner must receive development consent for works including demolition, movement of heritage items, exterior alterations, or alterations to internal structures.
For example, making changes to the building’s detail, fabric, finish or appearance.
A Mosman Council spokeswoman said this week that a heritage listing might not always limit the development potential of a site and council would review any application on its merits.
The Heritage Council of NSW considered listing Morella on the State Heritage Register more than a decade ago, but the proposal was shelved in late 2009.
A State Heritage Register committee meeting in June 2005 discussed how Mosman Council advised that it would make orders to demolish the property if conservation works were not carried out.
A further State Heritage Register committee meeting in May 2006 discussed that the cost of fixing the building would likely be more than $1 million.
Mr Parer told the committee that because of limited funds available at the time of construction, the building was built to minimum standards and the effects were apparent in the corrosion of galvanised steel used in the concrete slabs and lintels.
The committee noted that Mr Parer’s consultant, James Taylor, had recommended in writing that Morella be demolished.
LJ Hooker Lower North Shore agent Geoff Smith, who handled the sale with Richard Harding under instruction from Daniel McGirr of McGirr Lawyers on behalf of the executers of the estate, said that it was a challenging property to sell given its current condition.
“The council stance on it as far as we’re concerned is that they want as much of it kept, retained and used ... in renovations they would like it replaced in the style typical of the era,” Mr Smith said.
Watching the auction unfold was Chew “Chewee” Ho Hong, who was Mr Parer’s nurse and lived with him for an extended period until his death in May last year, and who was cited in his obituary as his “loving partner”.
According to NSW Government land title documents, the home was listed in Ms Ho Hong’s name after she inherited Mr Parer’s estate after reportedly claiming letters of administration as his defacto.
Anthony’s sister Marianna, who lives in Montreal in Canada and is the last surviving member of the family, said that she had contested the estate, but was unsuccessful due to her own personal wealth.
Overcome with emotion following the sale, she claimed the Parer family had no ties to Ms Ho Hong.
“It’s a terrible story, I just got out of hospital today because I had a very bad reaction to what has happened,” Ms Parer said.
“This is just a realisation that my whole life, my young life is gone.”
Daniel McGirr, who was representing Ms Ho Hong, declined to make any comments regarding the sale.
Leo Parer passed away in 1968, and Helena in 1989, while Sarita died in a plane crash in Mexico in 1979.
Despite its current run down state as a result of standing empty for 30 years, Morella was one of the finest homes to grace the suburb in its day and featured prominently in a 1943 issue of Australian Home Beautiful magazine as a result of its striking design, which was the work of Walter Burley Griffin’s protege Eric Nicholls.

Opening up on the 7th of November 1999 Fox Studios Australia Backlot was a relatively small park featuring only a few attractions including a THEA award winner - Titanic The Experience. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to bring in the crowds and the park struggled to stay open closing after just two years of operations.
