Průběh návštěvy a její význam připomínáme v dokumentárním snímku Martiny Malinové prostřednictvím výpovědí očité svědkyně Doris Grozdanovičové, bývalé vězenkyně terezínského tábora, Davida Haase, vnuka jednoho z nejvýznamnějších terezínských malířů Bedřicha Fritty, jehož obrazy s nekompromisní ironií odkrývají cynismus a zrůdnost nacistického systému.

TEREZÍN
Terezín or Theresienstadt concentration camp
After the Munich Agreement in September 1938 and following the occupation of the Czech lands in March 1939, with the existing prisons gradually filled up as a result of the Nazi terror, the Prague Gestapo Police prison was set up in the Small Fortress (see History) in 1940. The first inmates arrived on 14 June 1940. By the end of the war 32,000 prisoners of whom 5,000 were women passed through the Small Fortress. These were primarily Czechs, later other nationals, for instance citizens of the former Soviet Union, Poles, Germans and Yugoslavs. Most of the prisoners were arrested for various acts of resistance to the Nazi regime; among them were the family members and supporters of the assassins of Reinhard Heydrich. Many prisoners were later sent to concentration camps such as Mauthausen. The Jewish Ghetto was created in 1941.

THE HOLOCAUST - GHETTO THERESIENSTADT
Between 1941 and 1945 the small fortress town of Theresienstadt in Czechoslovakia became a transit point to the death camps in the east for thousands of Czech, German, Austrian and Dutch Jews. All those deported to Theresienstadt were led to believe it was an 'end camp' from which they would travel no further. They were promised a comfortable and peaceful life in the 'Reich home for the aged' and were hoodwinked into signing over to the S.S. all of their properties and assets. In reality, many would be sent on to death camps such as Auschwitz. From 1943, following international concern, the Nazis developed Theresienstadt into a 'show camp' a propaganda exercise designed to conceal from the outside world what was really happening to Europe's Jews. A large scale 'beautification' programme swung into action, giving the camp a pleasant and respectable facade, a deception that succeeded in shielding the terrible truth.

Theresienstadt: The Little Fortress
Terezin, 1941-1945
Albergó hacinados a unos 144.000 judíos.

In 1941, the small fortress was turned into a walled ghetto, which featured a facade that hid the Jewish extermination operation. For the outside world, Terezin must appear as a model Jewish colony. It housed over 144,000 Jews. Nearly a quarter died in the concentration camp itself, especially because of the bad conditions: hunger and disease. Some 88,000 people were transferred to Auschwitz and other extermination camps. At the end of the war, only 17,247 survivors were found. On May 3, 1945, control of the camp was transferred by the Germans to the Red Cross. The place occupied by the concentration camp has become a museum in memory of the victims.

Theresienstadt
This documentary tell's about the Nazi Concentration Camp in Terezin, Czech Republic, that Hitler chosen to make a fake thing to show to world that the nazis militaries treated well their prisoners! It was not true and they made a movie directed by K. Garron to show to the International Red Cross that everybody in the Ghetto was liing well!
Tens of thousands of people died there, some killed outright and others dying from malnutrition and disease. More than 150,000 other persons (including tens of thousands of children) were held there for months or years, before being sent by rail transports to their deaths at Treblinka and Auschwitz extermination camps in occupied Poland, as well as to smaller camps elsewhere.

Terezin Concentration Camp Tour | Day Trip From Prague
We took a day trip from Prague to Terezin (Terezin Concentration Camp), a small town in the Czech Republic that has a concentration camp from WWII. Thousands of prisoners, including Jews, gypsies, political prisoners, and many others, passed through here. A majority were transported from here to other concentration camps, like Auschwitz. It was a depressing day to say the least, but informational and humbling as well.

Terezin - Theresienstadt
The camp, Terezin/Theresienstadt, near Prague, was a hybrid of ghetto and concentration camp. It was administered by both The Czech Police and The Nazis. See an in depth tour by Pavel Batel of Terezin Private Tours.

PRAGUE TO TEREZIN 2012 - HD Time Lapse
160,000 Jews were sent by the Nazis to Terezin concentration camp during 1941-45.
About 35,000 died there and the others were murdered elsewhere
Lidice, Czech Republic (2)
This little village dating back a bunch of centuries, back in June 1942 was literally erased from the maps by the Nazis after the assasination attempt on the life of the Blond Beast Reinhard Heydrich, when two commandos, Jan Kubic and Josef Gabcick tried to kill him when he was arriving to Prag from his home near Prag. The cheap machine gun got stuck and they threw a granade to him injuring him, later on he died. As a result, there were intensive investigations and an unfunded rumor took the Gestapo to Lidice, they came into town, separated the men from the women and children, the men were all killed inside the church along the priest and after that the women were taken to Ravensbruck KZ Lager, the children, 82 of them killed the rest given in adoption to non fertile nazis and then the town was dinamited, burned and buried, afterwards erased from the maps.
After the war, an organization Lidice Lives Forever with the help of alied governments started the rebuilding of the town nearby, leaving the site of the original Lidice empty. Nowadays there are gardens there and a memorial.
