This is the Manistee, Michigan Riverwalk and Manistee River in Manistee, Michigan as they appeared in July of 2010. Very pleasant. We loved both of our trips to Michigan and hope to return soon.

Let's Visit Manistee, MI
In this video, I head out to Manistee, MI, located along the shores of Lake Michigan in the northwestern part of Northern Lower Michigan. I show the downtown area along with the Manistee River as it heads out to Lake Michigan where the Manistee Breakwater Light shines out for sailors.
Manistee is located about 30-40 minutes north of Ludington and a little over an hour southwest of Traverse City along US 31.

We love Manistee, Michigan and especially the riverwalk downtown. There is a long walkway that allows you to enjoy the beautful scenery along the Manistee River.

Manistee River, MI - 20 Mile Loop Hike May 2015 - Michigan Hiking
This ~20 Mile section of the Manistee River, hiked between Hodenpyl Dam and Red Bridge River Access Site in the Huron-Manistee River National Forest, is easily one of the finest hikes in Michigan's lower peninsula. For roughly 10 miles, the Manistee River is completely undeveloped, with no roads crossing it or homes along side it.

Our trip to Tawas, Michigan included Lumberman's Monument, sights of the Au Sable River, and close views of Iargo Springs. Oscoda, MI is a great place for scenic views especially during the Fall! We'd return in a heartbeat!
