Marin Headlands and Sonoma Wine Country | MOTM VLOG 82
In this vlog we head down from the redwoods to sonoma county, taste wine and tour the Marin Headlands north of the golden gate bridge.
The drive down from the redwoods was very beautiful and had many different types of terrain. It was pretty obvious as when we made it to wine country!
Our first adventure took us to the Marin Headlads north of the golden gate bridge, It just so happened that a friend from michigan was in the area the same day so we met up to tour the area.
After that we spent a few days touring the wine regions around the area. We did a number of tastings but they were all very expensive. The one we hilighted however was free! Korbel champagne! They had a great tour and good wine! We always thought of korbel as some huge corperate winemaker, but upon visiting we learned their roots were very small and local.,. They are one of the oldest winemakers in California.
The last thing we hilighted in this vlog was a kayak trip on lake sonoma. While it was not exactly warm, we went for a paddle anyway, This man made lake provides irrigation to much of the region and recreation for the locals.

Marin Headlands, Serene Wilderness near San Francisco.
The Marin Headlands is a hilly peninsula at the southernmost end of Marin County, California, USA, located just north of San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge, which connects the two counties and peninsulas. The entire area is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The Headlands are famous for their views of the Bay Area, especially of the Golden Gate Bridge.
One of the most unique areas in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the Marin Headlands covers various types of histories from the Miwok Indians to the Military, including historic Fort Barry and Fort Cronkhite, the NIKE Missile site and the 150 year-old Point Bonita lighthouse. Other attractions include varied hiking trails, dog friendly Rodeo Beach, and astonishing views of the coast and San Francisco. The explosion of wildflowers in the spring and raptor migration in the fall fill the headlands with year round excitement.
The last few pic in the video?. La Huaca Peruvian Cuisine in Roseville California.
There’s a good chance you’ve never tried Peruvian food or even heard much about it.
That could be about to change.
Largely unknown until recently, the food from this South American nation of rich history and wide-ranging cultural influences has been securing a foothold throughout North America, led by Peruvian super-chef Gastón Acurio. His quest for worldwide expansion includes a hip restaurant in San Francisco called La Mar.
Is Peru the next big thing in food? I hope so. If what they’re doing at La Huaca in Roseville is any indication, it stands a chance of gaining an enthusiastic new audience.
Peruvian food is eclectic. It’s accessible. It embraces multiple cultures and influences from ancient Aztecs to contemporary and cosmopolitan Lima. It’s both familiar and exotic. And when it’s done well, it can be both hearty and elegant.
It seems like an arms-wide-open, anything-goes assortment of flavors, ingredients and techniques.
Peruvian food is seafood. It’s steak, lamb, chicken and pork. It’s even pasta. And it’s all kinds of mashed potatoes – really fancy, complex, sculptural mashed potatoes that include an array of extras such as chicken, fish, vegetables and, yes, even octopus.

Okay, so essentially whenever I make one of these off beat vidoes, that is different in one way or another, you can hopefully expect me to clarify things in the description (UNLESS I beleive the video can speak for itself.)
But I also don't like answering every single question.
So here is my vague description: I wanted to go a little more somber with this vlog, and try to capture a specific mood.
I also attempted to ascribe meaning to the lizard shots I managed to get.
Lastly, I used a visual effect called Warp Stablizer on like practically every shot in this vlog. Its purpose is to smooth over any jerky motions in post, but a lot of the time it produces this jello effect that makes things look really fake.
Secret Bunker at the Marin Headlands
This is one of several abandoned bunker's constructed during World War II based on the belief that an impending Japanese attack on San Francisco was inevitable. In the end, the attack never came and after the war the fortifications were left to decay and be overcome by nature.
This particular bunker is unique because one will not find it any modern maps of the Marin Headlands. The location is completely off the beaten path, hidden at the bottom of the cliff with no real trailhead. The vantage point is surreal. Above at the top of the cliff lies Battery Rathbone.
Marin Headlands
The Marin Headlands is a beautiful location just outside of San Francisco. This is just a short video showing one of the many amazing locations there.
