From Martigny to Vallorcine on the route of 'the Mont Blanc Express'
The most spectacular railway journey which can be taken between Switzerland and France is the 'Mont Blanc Express' route between Martigny and St Gervais via Vallorcine and Chamonix.
Despite the branding and route maps of the TMR trains used for the part of the journey between Martigny and the Swiss border, when travelling from the length of the route a change of train is required at Vallorcine.
When heading west from Martigny, one of the spectacular views on the entire route can be seen on the right, the view of the valley is incredible.
But once the train is in the mountains, the best of the views switch to the left - as seen in this clip.
