【Miami Beach】
Miami Beach is a coastal resort city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It was incorporated on March 26, 1915. The municipality is located on natural and man-made barrier islands between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, the latter of which separates the Beach from the mainland city of Miami. The neighborhood of South Beach, comprising the southernmost 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2) of Miami Beach, along with downtown Miami and the Port of Miami, collectively form the commercial center of South Florida. Miami Beach's estimated population is 92,307 according to the most recent United States census estimates. Miami Beach is the 26th largest city in Florida based on official 2017 estimates from the US Census Bureau. It has been one of America's pre-eminent beach resorts since the early 20th century.
In 1979, Miami Beach's Art Deco Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Art Deco District is the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the world and comprises hundreds of hotels, apartments and other structures erected between 1923 and 1943. Mediterranean, Streamline Moderne and Art Deco are all represented in the District. The Historic District is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the East, Lenox Court on the West, 6th Street on the South and Dade Boulevard along the Collins Canal to the North. The movement to preserve the Art Deco District's architectural heritage was led by former interior designer Barbara Baer Capitman, who now has a street in the District named in her honor.

Two New Hotels To Ease Room Deficiency -- Sky Arnold
Thursday's downtown stroll came with a slight detour for Therese Crawford's basketball team from Texas. She decided to bring the team to town a day early for its tournament and then ran into a challenge trying to rent a room.We had to start playing on Wednesday so we were trying to get here a day early to get settled in.They were all full, all of them. they said they had no rooms nothing, said Crawford. It's an issue that may happen more than you think.Butch Spyridon with the Convention and Visitors Bureau says Nashville's lack of hotel room space has cost the city business.Spyridon says unlike competing cities with multiple 1000 room hotels Nashville only has the Opryland Hotel and it isn't downtown. It has been an issue. We got groups that may be in New Orleans and need three hotels in Nashville they need 23 hotels, said Spyridon. He says that's why the news two new hotels are coming to town bringing a combined 850 rooms is so big.One is a Hyatt Regency Hotel coming to the old Trail West building. The other is a Mariott Hotel across from the Music City Center by prominent builder Tony Giarratana. If both of these projects end up being developed then we're at a great point in this city for the foreseeable future, said Spyridon. The two hotels could be open as early as December of 2014.

Nashville Welcomes March Madness - John Dunn
Fans from eight different universities are arriving in Music City, and many of them are already taking in the sights downtown. This is the third time that Nashville has hosted the men's NCAA tournament. Four games will be played inside the Bridgestone Arena Friday, and fans are getting out of their hotels and taking in the city of Nashville.Nashville's honky tonks will be more like sports bars this weekend. March Madness is back in Nashville.Being in the town and seeing all the different schools around is great and just being able to interact with everyone is great, says Florida State fan Laura Hilton.Fans are beginning to arrive from Michigan, Ohio, Florida, and beyond. The live music, the bars, the atmosphere, the whole city is great, says basketball fan Ed Sniadecki.Ed Sniadecki and his friends traveled from New York City. They're not rooting for a particular team, they're here for the fun, and Nashville's vibrant downtown. We just pick a different city and it doesn't matter who we're going to see, we just come for the city, says Snaidecki. Nashville's Convention and Visitors Bureau says the tournament is always a draw.It makes March. To be part of the National hysteria is great, says Butch Spyridon, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau.Spyridon believes the tournament could bring in about two million dollars in visitor spending. That's small in comparison to the 20 million dollars that comes from Nashville's Music City Bowl. Still, he believes it's well worth it.It's good theater, it's good sport, and it's good revenue, says Spyridon. The beer trucks are already supplying beverages for basketball and St. Patrick's day. Downtown business owners are eager to welcome fans.Everybody gets a little bit of the action and we're all excited to have all of these people in town, says business owner Brenda Sanderson.Lisa Vogel will be cheering for Cincinnati on Friday. She's hoping for a win, and helping the city's businesses at the same time.I know I'm spending lots of money, so I hope everyone else is coming to Nashville and spending money, and you guys have a huge economic impact from it, says Lisa Vogel.Teams like Florida State and Cincinnati should bring the most fans to Music City.If you ask downtown business owners, they'll tell you they were hoping for a team like Louisville or Kentucky, both of which bring a lot of fans. For news updates follow John Dunn on twitter @WZTVJohnDunn
