Swimming With The Hawaiian Fishes - Diving Kealakekua Bay Captain Cook Monument, Hawaii
Aloha Hui!
Today we mix it up a bit and get some diving done over at Kealakekua Bay, Hawaii. Aura was kind enough to invite me to go out on a diving sesh to the captain cook monument to get some nice looks at the Hawaiian fish and the beautiful ocean. Saw a few Invasive roi to, but the area is a no fishing zone so I guess they are going to need to hang out. It was an amazing diving and swimming sesh non the less and a beautiful day in the ocean of Hawaii.

Most Epic Maui Whale Watch EVER - part 2
Check out this close-up humpback whale watching encounter just off the shores of west Maui! Often referred to as a whale ‘mugging,’ these two guys were extremely fortunate to get the whale watch of a lifetime as they prepared to go scuba diving:
Filmed off of the coast of west Maui’s Lahaina Town, this video was captured from a 10 foot zodiac boat on an iPhone and a GoPro and is one of the closest encounters we’ve ever seen on film!
If you plan to travel to Maui, Hawaii, from the period of mid December to mid May, you’re just in time to witness the Aloha State’s favorite time of year: whale season. The 5th largest species of whale in the world, these majestic humpbacks make their annual journey from the shores of Alaska to Hawaii each year in order to mate, give birth and nurse their young in the warm, shallow waters surrounding Hawaii. On Maui in particular, humpback whales particularly seem to love the shallow and protected Au’au Channel, which lies conveniently between west Maui and our neighbor island of Lanai.
While chasing after humpbacks is strictly prohibited, it’s a truly memorable experience when they take the time to approach you instead! You can see these stunning creatures during whale season on Maui on one of many popular whale watching tours, whether by boat with Kai Kanani and Redline Rafting or by outrigger canoe, stand up paddleboard or kayak with Hawaiian Paddle Sports and Maui Kayak Adventures. Additionally, you’re often even lucky enough to spot them from shore while lounging at the beach! Just remember to always pull over, park and get out of your car if the sudden urge to whale watch while driving hits.
When viewing them from the water, you may even get lucky enough to hear the males as they sing, and witness the many playful behaviors they exhibit on the surface of the water, including fluke up and down dives, blowing, pec and tail slapping, spy hopping, head slapping and breaching.
Truly an unforgettable experience in Maui, we recommend whale season for new and return visitors to The Valley Isle. Aloha!

The Sea Village - Oceanfront 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Condo Kona Hawaii Big Island
2 bedroom, 2 bath, Oceanside Condo Sea Village
This first floor (no steps) unit is one of the finest in the Sea Village complex. It is located in Building Number 4, the oceanfront building. You can see the ocean from the living room and kitchen. Sit on your own private oceanfront lanai and view the beautiful coast of Kona and Kailua Village, watch the dolphins and whales frolic in the ocean and witness the gorgeous Kona sunsets. One guest says it all - From the lanai, we saw spinner dolphins, yellow tang, black crab, red crabs, fish jumping from tidepools to the ocean, lots of birds and a shark - beautiful sunsets. This past winter season, guests witnessed a humpback whale giving birth off the rocks in front of the building. This updated unit (new kitchen, shower, tile and carpet) is beautifully and tastefully decorated and has everything you need to enjoy a wonderful vacation in paradise. The Kailua-Kona Coast has the most colorful and spectacular pink, lavender, and orange sunsets in Hawaii. Maybe you’ll be lucky and spot the famous 'Green Flash” at sunset, as the sun dips behind the horizon. You can watch the incredible Kona sunsets right from one of the decks or the lanai, as well as the cruise ships, para-sailing, whales and dolphins.
The Kailua-Kona Historical Village is a short drive from the Sea Village (1 miles north on Alii Drive) . The Village is very quaint, with lots of charm and good shopping right along the water’s edge. Some of the activities you can find in the Village and nearby are: beaches, luau’s, farmer’s markets, art galleries, jewelry shops, restaurants, boating, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, boogie boarding, and deep sea fishing .... Just about every water sport you can think of! There are also several great golf courses nearby. There is so much to do to stay active, or you can do nothing and just lounge on the beach.

TPP protest at King's Trail Waikoloa Hawaii March 14 2015
March 14, 2015 activists from all over Hawaii Island gathered at Waikoloa to protest the Trans Pacific Partnership international trade deal. The TPP members held meetings at the Marriott in Waikoloa from March 9-15. About 60 people showed up to protest on the highway, and after about an hour they split into 3 groups with some staying at the highway, some going to the beach, and some went to the King's Trail. The King's trail and the beach below the high tide mark are the only public spaces in the entire resort area.
story in West Hawaii Today newspaper
Protesters of Trans-Pacific Partnership lined Queen Kaahumanu Highway near Waikoloa Beach Road. The Aloha Aina “Day of Action” against TPP and for home rule, sovereignty, democracy and transparency was held Saturday.
The United States is negotiating an ambitious trade accord with 11 other Pacific Rim countries that’s meant to ease barriers to fast-growing Asia-Pacific markets and streamline customs rules that can bedevil exporters.
Yet the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP, is also stirring opposition. Critics say it will destroy U.S. jobs, allow multinational corporations to sidestep laws they don’t like and let drug companies use stricter patent protections to drive drug prices beyond the reach of patients in poor countries.
The TPP would erase most tariffs and other barriers to trade and investment among the United States, Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam. Combined, these countries supply 40 percent of the world’s economic output.
The deal would also clarify and standardize trade rules, thereby making it easier for companies to sell goods and services in the Pacific Rim.
