Kathakali plays are normally performed without rehearsal by actors who know the full range of the repertoire. Each performance varies on the initiative of the actors as they work in performance with other performers and musicians. As part of the training however, actors memorise closely choreographed sections of the plays. These pieces are called Choliyattams, and unique recordings of fifteen of these are form part of the Collection.

At Deviprasadam Trust Olappamanna 2016
The opinion of Aldous Huxley is that a musician/artist can never become a scientist and vicecersa. Indian concept is that Athman (The true self) has multiple abilities both artistic and scientific, emotional and rational. And all these can be expresed in the same individual because every individual is a jeevathman. An example we can quote is Albert Einstein who was scientist and a musician(violin). Modernscience also proves that the harmonious working of right and left brains make one proficient in multiple arts and sciences. The multifaceted prathibha or prajna as described by Indian aesthetics is a scientific reality, an artistic beauty and a philosophical truth. The speech delivered at Olappamanna mana Deviprasadam Trust -As chief guest- on 28.2.2016.
