Miyagi Prefecture is home to the Tohoku region's largest city, Sendai, a place that combines urban excitement with rural beauty. It is here that you can enjoy Tohoku's legendary surf and turf combination, the oysters of Matsushima Bay and the grilled beef tongue of Sendai.
Naraijuku - Japan’s Oldest Village
Naraijuku is one of the 11th villages that was on the Nakasendo, one of the main routes that linked Edo (the old name of Tokyo) and Kyoto during the Edo era (1603-1868).
It was an inn village where people would rest hence its name Narai-juku (Juku means in).

In this video we are heading directly to Miyagi Prefecture from Narita Airport by overnight bus. On the first day we'll explore the Shiogama area, known for it's fish market and shrine. Then take a pleasant cruise through Matsushima Bay past the many pine covered islands that dot the bay. Lastly we'll explore the quaint port town of Matsushima.
On day two we head to the big city of Sendai where we ride the Loople Sendai bus to many famous spots including Zuihoden and Aoba Castle. We end the day and trip walking through the large shopping arcade which leads back to Sendai Station.

Juicy Japanese beef at Japan meat festival (NIKUFES) - Best Japanese Food
Hey everyone, it's Paul from Nippon Meshi (Nippon = Japan, Meshi = Food). Thank you for watching our very first episode showcasing a Japanese meat festival (Niku Fes 2018) being held in Osaka, Japan. There's juicy meat everywhere and at the end a nice sweet taiyaki dessert to finish it off.

Japan Vacation (Day 7) - Nijo Castle, Sagano Scenic Railway in Arashiyama

Weekend Adventure in Tohoku - Yamadera & Sakunami Onsen - Go!Go!Tohoku!! Japan Travel:
In my opinion, if you visit Japan, an Onsen (hot springs) overnight stay is one of the best experiences you can get. Not a lot of tourists actually do that. Miyagi Prefecture is blessed with so many hot spring resorts.
Put your Yukata on, sleep on tatami mats and enjoy the indoor and outdoor Onsen. Moreover, if you book the dinner and breakfast option (which is highly recommended), you can experience a local and seasonal multi-course meal (kaiseki style) which is so beautifully presented. Almost too beautiful to eat! And now just relax and recover during your Onsen stay.

Miyagi prefecture is famous for its rice, and since it is sake's main ingredient,
there are many sake breweries in the prefecture.
Hirako Sake Brewey is one located in Ishinomaki city.
It reopened within a month of the tsunami disaster.

↪ P.S.: If you hate zoo environments or any sort of animal enclosure no matter if the conditions are well and good (as per what I witness during my visit), I suggest that you don’t visit this place or it will make you uncomfortable. As for me, I just try to keep an open mind; plus, I don’t immediately shun every animal park, especially if the animals are well-cared for (unless it's otherwise — do let me know). If it helps to note, foxes are one of the few animals who don’t suffer any type of stress when under captivity — but of course, I do know that it's ideal to rather let them be in the wild...
Yet again, their chances of survival in the wild is very slim especially with today's times. Looking at the facts, a fox in the wild has an average life span of 2-4 years only because of diseases, hunting practices and road accidents; but in places like this Fox Village, they can live up to 14 years. (Besides, you cannot imagine the number of people who would ‘kill’ for fox fur, nor the number of people who do fox hunting for fun/sport like the UK for example).
