The Usuki Stone Buddhas (Usuki Sekibutsu) are statues of various Buddhas sculpted into a cliff about five kilometers southwest of Usuki's central city. Buddha statues are usually made of wood or metal in Japan. Usuki's statues are a rarity and the only stone Buddhas in Japan to be designated as national treasures.
Stone Buddhas
The Stone Buddhas are divided into four groups, which are just a short walk away from each other. It takes about 30 minutes to complete an easy paved trail that passes by all of them.
These beautiful statues are estimated to have been created around the late Heian Period (794-1185). They are carved from highly workable, soft, volcanic rock from nearby Mount Aso.

A five minute walk across the field from the stone Buddhas is Mangatsuji Temple, which is a simple temple in the calm neighborhood. A pair of stone sculpted Nio guardians or Kongōrikishi stand in front of the temple. There are also a few other stone sculptures on the temple's grounds, which includes one of the Buddhist priest that according to legend created the stone Buddhas.
Yamako Usuki Art Museum
It is a small, two-storied museum , exhibiting relics belonging to the local feudal lord of the Edo Period (1603-1867). The museum also displays a variety of artifacts from the Kamakura to Muromachi Periods such as earthenware, Chinese porcelain and stone objects, all recovered in local excavations in recent decades.

【★018★Kagawa Takamatsu Ritsurin Koen】
Subscribe link :
Ritsurin Koen (栗林公園) is a landscape garden located Takamatsu City, built by the local feudal lords during the early Edo Period. It is often suggested that Ritsurin Koen deserves a spot on the list of the three most beautiful gardens of Japan alongside Kanazawa's Kenrokuen, Mito's Kairakuen, and Okayama's Korakuen. This park got three stars from Michelin Guide in 2009 as a worth visiting place.
The large park features many ponds, hills, historic trees and beautiful pavilions divided into a Japanese style garden in the south and western style garden in the north. The gardens are placed in front of wooded Mt. Shiun which serves as a wonderful background and great example of borrowed scenery. In the park there are a number of facilities including a folk museum, shops and a few rest houses where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments amidst the beauty of the garden. Of particular note is the Kikugetsu-tei teahouse in the southwest part of the gardens where, for a small fee, you can enter and enjoy some tea on its verandas while overlooking the ponds.

0:22 - Döbling in Vienna and the district Setagaya in Tokyo have a friendship and cultural agreement.
From this to build a Japanese garden in Döbling the idea was born.
The Setagayapark was planned by the Japanese garden designer Ken Nakajima.
Next to the main entrance is a stone monument. In this is engraved in Japanese letters the word Furomon. Visitors should be signaled that they enter the paradise.
1:45 - The impressive modern setting of the Vienna International Centre (VIC) has been home to numerous international organizations since 23 August 1979. On daily guided tours, visitors can learn about the work of the United Nations and experience the Vienna International Centre's striking architecture and vibrant, cosmopolitan atmosphere of the VIC.
3:30 - In 1888, the renown Jugendstil architect Otto Wagner designed and built a summer house for himself and his family located in Hütteldorf on the border of the historical “Wiener Wald”. The star architect moved in as early as 1895 and stayed until his children had moved out and the house became too big for just himself. He then sold the villa to Ben Tiber a wealthy business man who owned various theatres in Vienna including the famous Varieté Ronacher. Wagner himself acquired a piece of land right next to the grand villa and built himself a smaller and simpler house.
The former Wagner-Villa, later Ben-Tiber-Villa and today’s Fuchs-Villa, was considered a spectacular piece of architecture from its very foundation. When the design and floor plans of the house were first shown in Berlin, the press wrote the following: “A strange allure is evoked by this peculiar villa of the artist in Vienna, Hütteldorf. Completely deviating from the usual appearance of similar buildings, the frontal view of the house that sits on the flank of a hill, only shows a large open hall between two side wings.” Although the construction of the house evoked much turmoil at first, however, it later fell into oblivion and was only saved through the initiative of Ernst Fuchs. † November 9, 2015.
Initially, the villa was meant to be a communal project of Ernst Fuchs and his fellow artists Friedensreich Hundertwasser and Arnulf Rainer. This later turned out to be too complicated however and the house became Fuchs’ very own project. Shortly before the artist acquired the house, the famous poet Heimito von Doderer decided to make it the showcase for his last work “Der Grenzwald”. When Fuchs’ first acquired the house, it was a ruin. It took the artist many years and a large financial investment to restore the house. The majority was restored after Otto Wagner’s initial designs and some details were supplemented by Ernst Fuchs himself.
4:50 - Kirche am Steinhof, also called the Church of St. Leopold, is the Roman Catholic oratory of the Steinhof Psychiatric Hospital in Vienna, Austria. The building designed by Otto Wagner (1904-1907) is considered one of the most important Art Nouveau churches in the world.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.

- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

Slow TV - Tokyo - An Evening Stroll Through Sangenjaya - 2019 - 4K 60FPS
Sangenjaya is a cozy neighborhood located just five minutes from Shibuya on the Tokyu Den-En-Toshi Line.
This area has more bars and restaurant than one can count, and many of them are very popular among the locals. As you can see in this video, the nightlife establishments are centered in a few pockets of older buildings, surrounded by newer high-rise structures.
I highly recommend checking this area out at night, as it has tons of charm and personality, and the people tend to be very friendly and down to earth. Compared to busy Shibuya or other well-known entertainment districts in Tokyo, Sangenjaya still consists of a crowd of primarily local people.
The movie starts and ends at Sangenjaya Station, I pass most of the major nightlife areas while circling the entire area.
This was filmed on a weekday in July 2019

Museum Square in Vienna
This is one of a pair of identical buildings facing each other across a formal courtyard. In some cities, this building alone would be enough to constitute a castle, or a palace. But in imperial Vienna, this amazing piece of architecture is just another museum. The word imperial is important here because the structure was erected at the behest of Emperor Franz Joseph I. It was part of his plan for the overall expansion of Vienna. It was also built across the street from the Hofburg Palace, just the place to be seen by visiting nobility. Visiting dignitaries would no doubt be amazed by the statues that festoon the building's facade. In addition to the usual allegorical representations, there are statues of famous artists. On the front of the building they represent the Renaissance. On the left, modern art. In the back, classical art. And the art of the middle ages faces the Museumsquartier. The friezes lining the interior of the dome depict the Hapsburg family.
Kameido Tenjin Shrine Wisteria Festival
Kaimeido Tenjin Shrine is the best place in Tokyo to view wisteria. The trees blossom between late April and the beginning of May. This shrine is famous for its wisteria from feudal times. In mid February it is possible to see the plums blossom.
Utagawa Hiroshige has painted the wisteria blossom in the ukiyoe Kameido Tenjin Keidai of One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, in the Edo period.
