Molokini Crater, Maui, Hawaii (Snorkel)
We took a snorkeling tour with the Pacific Whale Foundation out of Maalaea Harbor in Wailuku, HI. Molokini is a crescent-shaped, partially submerged volcanic crater which forms a small islet located in the Alalakeiki Channel between the islands of Maui and Kahoʻolawe.

Shore Diving Big Island, Hawaii - Old Airport Dive Site | Kona Honu Divers
Some of the best shore diving on the big island is found in Kona Hawaii, and local Kona dive shop, Kona Honu Divers ( can give you a guide to the best shore diving big island tips & trips! Old airport dive site is great diving and it's about a 5 minute drive from the shop! It's well protected from the usual NW swell so it's a good option when sites like puako are not diveable. We took Laura Roberts of Dread Pirate Pottery along for a great shore dive. Old Airport dive site has some nice perks. Arches, blue water pelagic fish, and nice coral are just a few of the highlights. Old airport beach park is also a fantastic place to have picnic lunch after the dive with shower and restroom facilities along with shaded benches for chillaxin

Kealakekua Bay is one of the top Kona snorkeling sites! It's a marine preserve, and you can only get there by boat, by kayak, or on foot (a tough hike). Fair Wind Kealakekua Snorkel & BBQ Cruise on Hawaii
PLEASE subscribe HERE:
Today was our final full day on the big island of Hawaii. We went out with an amazing snorkel boat company called Fair Wind and hit up the beautiful snorkel cove called Kealakekua.
The most exciting part of the day was trying SNUBA for the first time. Amy has done a little SCUBA diving but Aubrey hasn't done any underwater diving with air. SNUBA is a tethered dive experience where you breathe through a regular SCUBA regulator, but your air is in a float on on the surface and you can go to a 15' maximum depth. It was a great way to introduce diving to Aubrey and an amazing way to explore the ocean life!
We saw eels, parrotfish, pufferfish, and tons more!
Then we got to play on the boat slides, swim, and snorkel and enjoy a BBQ lunch. It was such a fantastic way to end out very special trip!

Diving the Kohala Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii with Wa
My first dive as a certified diver on the Big Island of Hawaii. We saw turtles, a vast array of fish, conch shells and tako or octopus up close. We dove numerous lava tubes and watched whales and dolphins breaching near the boat. Incredible dive with a WaikoloaCoastDivers.com. Our dive master Bob was an encyclopedia and the supreme tako whisperer. Thanks guys!

Hawaii Reef Fish Whitelist Species
Hawaii's Department of Natural Resources came up with a white list on species acceptable for removal from Hawaii reefs. The problem is conflict of interest and corruption: the Natural Resources Director is a longtime aquarium collector who drafted the white list with his friends in the aquarium trade to sustain 98% of reef extraction revenue in Hawaii. The white list is a sham list, including many vanishing species, endemic species, species vital to reef function, all in deference to wildlife trafficking for the pet trade.
Reefs around the world are dying. St. Croix and Palau are among those places to ban the aquarium trade. It's time for Hawaii to ban the aquarium trade.
Snorkeling Makalawena Beach
Brandon and I were eager to explore the clear blue waters - I love being in the surf and watching the fishes bob and weave along with me.

Maui epic scuba diving - Hawaii 2014 GoPro Hero 3
Recent scuba diving video from Hawaii. Two Maui shore dives (Olowalu and Makena Landing). Boat dives locations - Lanai (1st Cathedral, 2nd Cathedral, Fish Rock), Molokini crater. I used GoPro 3 Black Edition with and without red filter plus Sola 500 video light. All in HD.
I had 6 (time limited) boat dives (not so cool for the price) and 2 shore dives (very cool) I was diving with two different companies. Boat dives with Lahaina Divers. Amazingly most of my video made on shore dives thanks to Mike from Maui Diving Scuba Center. Best on the island if you looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable dive instructor. Super cool time underwater.
