Tour of the Pipe Organ at St Denys' Church, York
This afternoon/evening, I was able to visit St Denys Church in York to have a go on the pipe organ there. This video is just an overview of the organ at St Denys - sadly, a few things are beginning to go wrong with this organ, but, once I knew what was and wasn't possible to do, I had quite an enjoyable time playing this!
I neglected to say that the pedal stops on this organ were a 16' Bourdon, 8' Open Diapason, with a drawstop prepared for a 16' Open Diapason (not installed).
With thanks to Rodney Troubridge, churchwarden here, for letting me visit today.

Walmgate & Walmgate Bar
Walmgate
Walmgate is thought to mean the street belonging to someone called Walba. It is an eastern continuation of Fossgate, but lies entirely on the east side side of the River Foss. The main medieval features in Walmgate are St Deny's Church, St Margaret's church and Walmgate Bar. St Denys was first mentioned in the early 12th century but its spire was removed in 1798. The church has a Norman doorway, as does St Margaret's further to the east. St Margarets was first mentioned in 1180 and has brick western tower dating from 1684. It underwent much rebuilding in the 19th century.
Walmgate Bar
Walmgate Bar is the most complete of the four main medieval gateways to the city, it is the only bar to retain its barbican, portcullis and inner doors.
Its oldest part is a 12th century stone archway, the walled barbican at the front dates from the 14th century, the wooden gates from the 15th century and the timber-framed building on the inside from the 16th century.
It was burned by rebels in 1489 and battered by cannon during the siege of 1644.

Greater Manchester Police never took into consideration, that I could not have been in two places at the same time. surprisingly all these so called incidents of harassment were taking place when I was somewhere else, but this did not matter to GMP because they were acting politically to have me constantly arrested and taken away from my family.

Manchester Cathedral - 6th September, 2011
Manchester Cathedral is a medieval church on Victoria Street in central Manchester and is the seat of the Bishop of Manchester. The cathedral's official name is The Cathedral and Collegiate Church of St Mary, St Denys and St George in Manchester. It has also variously been known locally as St Mary's, Christ Church and, simply, t'owd church.
Although extensively refaced, restored and extended in the Victorian period, and then again following severe bomb damage in the 20th century, the main body of the Cathedral largely derives from the wardenship of James Stanley (warden 1485--1506), and is in the Perpendicular Gothic style. Stanley was also primarily responsible for commissioning the spectacular late medieval wooden furnishings, including the pulpitum, the choir stalls, and the nave roof supported by angels with gilded instruments. It is one of the Grade I listed buildings in Manchester. Since 2005 the Dean of the Cathedral has been the Very Reverend Rogers Morgan Govender.
This video features views of both the Cathedral exterior and interior, including the architecture, sculptures, statues and stained glass windows.

“Choir & Places Where They Sing” 10: Leeds Parish Church 1967 (Donald Hunt)
BBC radio broadcast on 22 October 1967, featuring the choir of Leeds Parish Church, directed by Donald Hunt and accompanied by Donald Webster (assistant organist). This was the 10th of an 11-part weekly series intended as a follow-on to an earlier series called “Britain’s Cathedrals and their Music”, which had focused on cathedrals alone, whereas “Choirs and Places” featured mainly non-cathedral choirs. A planned 12th programme from the Temple Church in London was never completed. The programmes were introduced by Sir John Betjeman.

Rebel Rabbis: Anti-Zionist Jews Against Israel
VICE embeds with the London branch of the Neturei Karta, a group of controversial Ultra Orthodox Jews who campaign against Zionism and for the immediate dismantling of the state of Israel.
Because of their unusual views, and support of people like ex-Iranian president Ahmadinejad and groups like the Hungarian far right Jobbik party, other Jewish people often label them as extremists.
Reporter Milène Larsson goes behind the closed doors of this secretive community to understand why this Jewish group's anti-Israel sentiment has led them to join Palestinians protesting Israeli occupation and burn Israeli flags.
