Starling Resort on The Hill at Kampot Province
The full name is Starling Ridge Plantation Resort is located on the hill in Kampot province. The entrance name is Koun Sat mountain Pepper plantation. There is a big pepper plantation inside and next the hill of the resort where they build a nice restaurant with swimming pool, facing to the other mountains of Kampot Province. They also have wooden guest on the hill and the cost per night stay started from US$45. It's Starling Ridge Plantation Resort in Kampot Province.

The soil in the south of Cambodia is a paradise for growing pepper. A friend of the hotel director's son, took us to Sothy's pepper farm in Kampot to learn about pepper farming. There we also were inspired to do volunteer-work and stay in one country for a longer amount of time - to learn more about the culture (maybe next time).

One country, four provinces, six days.
My sisters and I travelled to Cambodia for six days. Our first stop was in Siem Reap. Next we went to Kampot and Kep. Third day was more like a day on the road. Arrived in Kampot at night. I do not recommend taking the Sorya bus as it takes almost 5 hours. Ekareach van takes 3 hours only (this is what we took on the way back to PNH).
Never forget to visit Kampot and Kep whenever you are in Cambodia but I dont recommend going on their rainy season coz it sure will rain all day. If you want something quiet, not crowded, lazy, then this is the place for you. Kampot is a small town where you can just walk or bike around. Kep is a 30-min ride from Kampot. Tourist tend to skip this province, DONT!
We went to their Secret Lake, Kampot Pepper Farm and Kep Crab Market. We were supposed to go to a cave but the rain didnt stop and wasnt able to tour more of Kep coz of the harsh wind and rain (sea side).
There are still many things you could do or places you could go in Kampot and Kep. Make sure to stay for a few days. One to two days is not enough.

But one remote region in southern Cambodia seems to be immune from the slump.

PEPPER TOUR & TASTING AT LA PLANTATION | Kampot, Cambodia | Vlog 026
After a pretty incredible breakfast at Espresso Cafe we venture over to La Plantation just outside of town, a 40 minute ($15 RTN) tuk tuk ride away.
Kampot pepper has been highly regarded by chefs and foodies all over the world for decades. We take a tour around La Plantation, learn about how the pepper is farmed and even do a tasting (which is definitely no wine tasting...).
That afternoon we head back into town and grab lunch at the Epic Arts Cafe, an organisation committed to equal opportunities who employ deaf and disabled people in Kampot.

Back in May 2015 as one of our last stops on the SE Asia trip we visited the small region of Kampot in Cambodia known for its world famous high quality Kampot Pepper. We took a motorbike and went to see the plantations and try the pepper ourselves. After an hour long drive outside Kampot we found this great little farm - the Sothy's Pepper Farm - where we had a pleasure of being shown around by Mr Norbert Klein, who has been helping promoting Cambodian agriculture since 1990.
